Actually, if you read the fine print at the bottom of the status checker, it says you should allow 7-10 days for the email to come. I don't know WHY they would need over a week to send you an email, but that is what it says. Have fun waiting.rachelw wrote:Do you all expect we'll have to wait til Monday to get the email or can I hope for an after-business-hours message?

You know, for a school working to attract competitive applicants, UW has a disappointingly plodding and impersonal admissions process. In the time I've been UR with them, I've gone through an entire decision cycle elsewhere.FortunaGubernans wrote:Actually, if you read the fine print at the bottom of the status checker, it says you should allow 7-10 days for the email to come. Admitted via email!
When I started this process, UW was my #1 target school. While I still plan to practice in Seattle eventually, I also plan to w/d from UW as soon as my seat deposit is confirmed elsewhere. Good luck to all -- hope more emails arrive soon.

Yes ... my experience implies that law schools indeed consider the entire application. I'm sure there's a numerical threshold below which the softs can't make a strong enough argument -- in other words, the school will not be moved by a great story if they have any doubt about the ability to handle the curriculum. But so long as a threshold is met, they are indeed reading everything you give them and making a holisitic assessment.
Hope you get what you want out of the process -- good luck!

I read through this thread and I think it is cool that you had such success despite choosing not to retake. I'm waiting for decisions to arrive. Would you be willing to pm or post some info about your softs? I was disappoint with my 166, but chose to apply without a retake because I did well enough to get some money at good schools. However, I would be willing to take a year off, not to simply retake the LSAT, but significantly improve myself in a holistic way (especially if that made Harvard/Berkeley an option). Is there anything about your path to law school which implies this could help?

Waitlisted today. The letter was very nice, though. I'll have to think about whether I want to stay on the waitlist or not. I do have two other offers that would make me happy already, and if the University of Washington offered me admission off of the waitlist it would be after both of their deposit deadlines. So I don't know. We'll see.

Applied 10/12/2012 waitlisted today 12/20/12. Really not bad news this early in the cycle! I can attest to them them looking at the whole applicant, my numbers suggest I would be rejected outright.
