Where are you getting a 3 page max? I thought it was 2-4 pagesslack_academic wrote:I may be fundamentally misunderstanding addendums here, but is the 1 page addendum intended to count towards the 3 page max for personal statements or could I have a 3 page statement and a 1 page addendum (4 pages total)?

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Gotcha. I'm pretty sure an addendum doesn't add to your PS total, but here's the app's wording:
While there is no page or word limit on the personal statement, please note that the Admissions Committee values an applicant's ability to communicate his or her thoughts in a clear and concise manner. The Admissions Committee typically finds that 2-4 pages is a sufficient length for most personal statements.

"Does anyone know Chicago's policy about refunding application fees? I submitted my app saturday but just received the unsolicited waiver email today."
Happened to me as well! That's what we get for trying to get the apps in ASAP haha. I emailed admissions saying that I had submitted and just received a fee waiver and included my LSAC account number. They sent me a response "We will process the refund." That's it. No details on how, etc. Hopefully they really do. I could use the extra $75! It really adds up when applying to several schools.

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
mine went complete today sometime.
I don't know if it helps or makes your more worried, but they definitely seemed to have already wrangled through the apps. They changed my permanent state residency from what I listed to my parent's home state since the last time I checked (a few days ago).

Just went complete this afternoon. Yes, I check that compulsively.VasaVasori wrote:Is anyone complete yet?
My status checker actually explicitly says "Application Incomplete".
I filled everything out, all my recs are in and identified as such on the checker, my LSAT score is in and my GPA is too. Nothing is listed under "Requirements List" though. I submitted it all on Sept. 1st and got my email on Sept. 3.

finally checking in, sent my app the first day. Would love Chicago; probably prefer it to NY.

Just submitted. I was thrilled to get a hidden waiver when they came out. Still think this is a total reach, but I would love nothing more than to get into Chicago.

So we know schools have a GPA/LSAT floor for fee waivers. Is it possible they have ceilings too? I'm just confused as to why I have not gotten one from Chicago even though I have from the other T-14s that have already sent some out.

Mine went complete within 3 days (and I think it might have been day 1). I also indicated I was retaking. You might want to call or email them.VasaVasori wrote:So my status tracker still says "Application Incomplete"... but I applied Sept. 1. I really want to call but I also want to give them the full three weeks. I guess I'll call a week from today if they don't have it updated.

Re: Chicago c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Hello all,
I have been a long time visitor to this site, but now that I have submitted all the applications that I intend to, I feel I have the time to start posting as well.
My numbers are: GPA: 3.61, LSAT: 167, 177
I want my cycle to be both proof and hope that softs can tip the scales in your favor when you are a splitter like me. I also believe that schools put the emphasis on the higher score, and hope my cycle goes on to show that as well.
I am applying to: Harvard, NYU, UChi, UMich, and Upenn.
Went a little off-topic. Checking in.

Is it bad that I get psyched every time I see someone with a 173+ who has a below HYS median GPA?yankihote wrote:Hello all,
