I'm thinking about it because I'm interested in international human rights. I'm also looking into the global law scholars but doesn't come with a scholarship, though.
I think I'm going to work on the PILS app this week- I'm hoping to work in health policy :)

I wasn't going to do the PILS app because I looked at the past recipients (very discouraging) but I guess I have nothing to lose....

I'm thinking about the Global Law Scholars too. I think the only thing that's holding me back is that it doesn't look like I can do curriculum b if i do global law scholars.

I don't know why, but the guy who interviewed me was vehemently against curriculum b. He told me employers often get confused because the classes have different names, so they don't like it. I don't know how much truth there is to it, but he almost scared me out of curr b. I am really interested in it though...I love legal history and I hear it is abundant in that program.

That's really weird because my interviewer highly recommended it. It might be biased because she did curriculum b. She said that the people in her section did as well if not better in OCI.

I just called the admissions office and spoked to the person in charge of the ASW. She said that they are making matches today for the people who signed up to stay with a current student and we should be notified by who it is by the 18th. She said that everyone who signed up to stay with a current student will be able to do so.

DC Metro is crazy easy! If you're coming into to Reagan take the yellow line to Gallery Place (better option) or the blue line to Metro Center (not as better option), transfer to the red line, and get off at Judiciary Square or Union Station.

Edit: If you're coming in by train, you don't have to metro at all, the law school is about a 5 minute walk away from Union Station. (Yes, I know admissions will probably give this out, but, eh :) )

That is awesome! I'm so excited! And I'll be arriving early as well :) I haven't booked my flight yet but all available options would leave me in DC before 11am.

This was my first acceptance so very exciting.

I got in with my October LSAT but did much better in December. Anyone know if I can send them the second score in hopes of more $$$$?
I would absolutely make them aware of it. Have you actually received your admissions packet or are you in via ASW? If you havent received anything hard copy yet, it would make it must less awkward to send your second score in to them.

no I've already received a letter from Dean C :S Still ok to notify them of my second score?

Thoughts on LRAP? Is it solid. Seems so. In fact, it seems too good to be true. Essentially, it would mean paying about $50,000 for lol school.

I'm for it!

Anyone taken an in-depth look at it so far?

Holy overstatement. It's pretty decent, but you better be sure you're going to land a qualifying job and stick with it for that to be true. And both of those things are much easier said than done.

GULC's LRAP is much more generous than most schools. It's doesn't beat out NYU's, though, which is the best in the country. NYU also provides other support for public interest like guaranteed summer funding. As someone who is definitely going to work in government and/or public interest, this is a big reason why I'm leaning NYU.

FYI: I'm pretty sure Georgetown has guaranteed funding for government/public interest/judicial internships over the summer.

Also, not sure of the details of NYU's LRAP, but if you go to GULC and then hold a PSLF-eligible position for 10 years, you literally pay $0 on your loans, ever.

Same thing for NYU, except it isn't tied to the government IBR occupation definitions. They're definitely comparable LRAPs, but NYU's is more flexible, and IIRC, NYU pays more for summer stipends. Need to check on that, though, and please correct me if you know different.
