I just called asking them because I wont be able to check my mail for a couple of weeks and the woman told me over the phone.

Has anyone gotten their scholarship info in the mail yet?

Their email was spot on as I am actually staying with relatives and won't be able to get the mail for a few weeks. I have my roommate looking for it though.

yeah they sent me an email telling me they sent by snail mail my scholly offer but the email did not specify the amount.

25K/year with the 3.2 stip. I don't know if it's enough to drag me back to South Florida, though, especially Miami. 160/3.88

Anyone else worried about the stip? I've heard that it isn't so easy to stay top 1/3 during 1L. All my other scholarship offers have required nothing more than good standing.

I'm extremely worried about the stip. It seems like one of those deals where most students don't get it renewed the second year. Any current students want to shed some light on the situation?

Yea that's what I think it is also. 25k off a 40k tuition isn't appealing enough when you factor in high cost of living,harsh stipulation and third best law school in the state. I was expecting Miami to give us people above their 75th percentiles good cash

Here's their 1L grade distribution to use as a guide:

-Core Classes: Students in first-year courses (other than second semester elective courses) are graded in accordance with the following grade distribution:
--The combined total number of B+ and A grades awarded in each course shall equal or exceed 20 percent of the number of students graded in that course; and
--The combined total number of B, B+, and A grades awarded in each course shall equal or exceed 45 percent of the number of students graded in that course.
--The sum of C-, D, and F grades in first-year courses shall not be less than 5 percent nor more than 15 percent of the number of students graded in that course (subject to waiver for a particular course in unusual circumstances by vote of the Faculty or by the Dean prior to the submission of grades).

As I said earlier in the thread I haven't received any grades yet so I can't really speak regarding how easy/hard it is to meet the 3.2 stip. I'll post back in about a month when grades are up.

Is it a bad sign that I haven't heard about Miami Scholars yet?

I applied the first day the app opened. I got an e-mail about a merit scholarship but I won't be able to check my mail until January. I'd really like to get the UMiami Scholars though, as I'm interested in going into the public sector
