some of the major firms in the state donated some $$ recently that's going to help with renovating the law school; i think it's supposed to begin this summer? they want to expand it and make it more technologically advanced. it's up on a hill and pretty close to the football stadium but not by the undergraduate buildings..it's basically between the downtown campus and the evansdale campus. i've only been in the lobby and a few of the rooms so i can't really comment on anything else; there's a starbucks in the lobby now though so you don't have to drive to get coffee.

It's an older building but the classrooms all feel pretty modern. It's on the appropriately-named Law School Hill overlooking the football stadium and hospital complex. I wouldn't describe it an any way as being close to other buildings on campus. It's a mile or so from the main UG downtown campus and about a mile from Engineering.

WVU sent me an email today asking me to apply. Two weeks ago, they rejected me with a 159/3.46. Not too upset because I got money from better schools, but this was just a little classless.

Anybody have an idea of how easy it is to get residency in WV after your first year? It would be nice to pay in-state for 2L and 3L...

I'm pretty sure you have to live in the state for a year without going to school to be considered a resident.

How long did it take you to get your login info?

Ohhhhh man. .. .. I can't remember. I submitted a post later on about how they were just getting the system and would get them sent out like the next week. I did get it that next week. I'm sorry I can't remember specific dates though.
Also, thanks to everyone for the responses about where the law school is and the pictures to show what it looks like. Much appreciated:-)

Go back one page and see my posts. It seems it is different for people. Mine was in separate envelopes mailed days apart and some other people seemed to get it all in one envelope.

Accepted off waitlist via status checker on 3/07/12. Didn't think they would activate it this early.

WVU is likely still getting a ton of applicants. They did last year, as well. It is hard to pass up a cheap tuition and decent in-state job prospects compared to other schools similarly ranked.

So, is there going to be another wave of acceptances?

There likely will. I know that some people in my class were not accepted until near summer, even. I would be surprised if WVU did not have another wave of acceptances.

Awesome, what are the likely LSAT scores that could be taken this late?
WVU resident,
145-
147-
150-
152-
155-
Give me your thoughts on those scores getting in this late, thanks!

147-
150-
152-

Probably the latter two with the 155 having a much better shot than the 152. Though there are a number of people with scores lower than those in the class itself, I think that they likely applied early. I would have to think that someone with a sub-150 score is out of luck off of the waitlist, but I could be wrong.

does anyone know the standard stip for scholarship at WVU. I just got a 10k a year on but with a 3.0 stip which seems kind of high

3.0. The school does not have a set curve. It fluctuates from a 2.7-2.9 depending on the year and how good the current crop of students are. So the stip is probably top 40-45% or so, I guess. And I agree -- it is high. Stips in general are stupid (though a stip that says you must remain in the top 75% would be fine).

ok top 40% is not bad and similar to what most schools are offering me. I agree stips are stupid and dangerous for an out of stater like me.
I am ok with the academic good standing stip because you usually have big problems if your below that.
Bring on the top 75% stip though
Any knowledge on how WVU is in terms of negotiating more money?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
