I submitted, I really don't want to go in the tower of doom but if it's the best I get then so be it.

Seriously considering a last minute ED application. 169/3.94/non-URM. Anyone have any idea if that makes me competitive for this? They don't really indicate how many of these spots are available. Would I be better off just applying regularly and waiting to hear back from Michigan, UVA, Penn, etc.?

to those people who have gone complete: does your BU status thing say that they have received your early decision contract? I have thrown that piece of paper at them every way I know how and still haven't gotten confirmation

No, it doesn't, but I don't think my file would have gone complete without it. I emailed it in and they emailed me back confirming they got it.cstan wrote:to those people who have gone complete: does your BU status thing say that they have received your early decision contract? Superficial similarity. Poor comparison.JoeMo wrote:T1, ED program = Full Scholly.stillwater wrote:And the parallel between GW and BU is?cstan wrote:is anyone else getting really nervous? I looked at GW's ED stats and it really freaks me out

out of something like 500-800 ED applicants, about 20-30 people get in Early Decision - but that was just the case in one year, I didn't study it too intensively so it might be different every time

you're right, that was a poor comparison, I should not have even brought it up

I think a good rule of thumb is that if you are above the 75th percentiles, then you have a shot at ED with a full scholarship. Otherwise, your chances are probably not great (if at all).cstan wrote:out of something like 500-800 ED applicants, about 20-30 people get in Early Decision - but that was just the case in one year, I didn't study it too intensively so it might be different every time

From looking at LSN it seems like a few years back their LSAT requirement was lower but as the economy gets crappier people with better numbers are applying ED to GW.mijenks wrote:What are GW's ED stats?cstan wrote:is anyone else getting really nervous? Hey, I was just making the parallel that he was making. I never said he was right.stillwater wrote:Superficial similarity. Especially, since BU's ED program is brand spanking new and there is nothing to compare it to.
I, personally, ED'd to GW because I feel I like the school better than I like BU. But I did apply to BU as well. So we'll see what happens.

Re: Boston University c/o 2015 Applicants
that makes sense. I'm just a little on edge because my GPA is below the 75% but my LSAT is above it and its very hard to predict what will happen.

Re: Boston University c/o 2015 Applicants
My point was simply that looking at BU's numbers, even though the program doesn't have any precedent as it is new, was probably a better indicator of the numbers you would need to gain admittance through their ED program. Not trying to call anyone out here, just pointing out that looking at BU itself may shed more light.JoeMo wrote: Hey, I was just making the parallel that he was making. I never said he was right.
