So it seems like if I was going to be held for a 2nd review, then it would probably say that in the status checker, right? That actually makes me feel better about getting a decision mailed, unless they reject people from EA right off the bat?

No they defer them to regular cycle.

Gah... I hate schools that overlook applicants that have overly great numbers... Just found out via status checker that they've decided to hold me over for a decision... How is a 3.78/177 not good enough for an auto-admit?

Cause they know with numbers like that you will probably end up at a better school and not pick their school anyway!

Went from "In Committee" on 11/10/11 (I think), to "In Committee" on 12/6/11. Hopefully, this is the real "In Committee".

Ok...Decision Mailed...I'm a little nervous since there are nothing but rejections on LSN and my deposits haven't been updated from $0.00. I'm in Las Vegas, so it's not that far to be mailed. Should have something by the end of the week to report.

Went from "In Committee" on 11/10/11 (I think), to "In Committee" on 12/6/11. Hopefully, this is the real "In Committee".

It's not waitlist - they will re-review your app in the regular admissions pool starting in January...

Being on second review is better than being waitlisted. as a wailistee you only have the opportunity to get a seat after everyone else has been reviewed and there happens to be seats open. Whereas a second review gives you the opportunity to have your application reviewed and admitted if you qualify. However, technically, second review is sort of like being waitlisted because by the time you get rereviewed it's going to be pretty late in the cycle and space will be limited.

Truly. I applied ED on 10/21, went "In Committee" on 10/31, then to "In Committee" on 11/18 and haven't heard anything since then.
