Sent mine in early last week and just got the under review email today like a couple other people. Makes me think they probably just gathered up apps from the last x-days to begin reviewing at the same time.

Haha... as much as I'd like to the whole veteran thing is good at Berkeley, I have suspicion that it may not help that much... after all, it is Berkeley.lrslayer wrote:oooooooooooo noooooooooo!!!!!!!! i'm up against another war hero?!?!!? there went my angle! hahaScrabbleChamp wrote:Submitted 9/22, just got under review email, as well. But, rest easy... according to LSN, the 3 people last cycle with numbers most similar to mine were rejected. Good luck to you!

I submitted today, 10/27, then about 4 hours later got an email saying that I was under review. Is the turn around supposed to be that quick? Does this mean anything?

I think they just waited for a batch of applications and then put everyone under review today. Don't think it means anything.Sh@keNb@ke wrote:I submitted today, 10/27, then about 4 hours later got an email saying that I was under review. Is the turn around supposed to be that quick? Submitted 10/12, and also received that "Under Review" e-mail! Does anyone know when we'll start hearing back from Berkeley?

Is it true California residents have a better shot at an acceptance at Berkeley?

I checked LSN and it appears the first decisions were not issued until the Monday before Thanksgiving... so if the same holds true for this cycle, we should all find out 21 November 2011.

Hmmm, I submitted Oct 26th and mine isn't under review yet, but some people who submitted on the 27th are UR. Does this mean I won't be in the first batch of reviews or that they just havent updated my status yet?

Oh wow, that is super early. I will actually be in the Berkeley area at that time, and will probably visit the campus. It would be amazing to get in while I'm there. Please admit me Bezerkeley...ScrabbleChamp wrote:I checked LSN and it appears the first decisions were not issued until the Monday before Thanksgiving... so if the same holds true for this cycle, we should all find out 21 November 2011.

The more I look at Berkeley the more I think I'd really like to go.
Also under review; I sent my stuff in around the 16th I think. Reallllllly hoping to be in the first batch of decisions.

It's definitely an interesting place. For example, DID YOU KNOW that J.R. Celski goes there???freestallion wrote:Oh wow, that is super early. Re: Berkeley c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Historically, CA schools did give a boost to in-state applicants. However, i'm THINKING that because of the financial straits that the UC system is in, they'd probably prefer to give more acceptances to out-of-state applicants so as to get a little more money flowing. But Berkeley is a strange bird, you never know what they're gonna do.heptune wrote:Is it true California residents have a better shot at an acceptance at Berkeley?
