Re: NYU Waitlist 2011
Has anybody, particularly those admitted off the wait list, seen any movement on their application status page?

The date of the DLS updated to the day I received the phone call. There is now nothing under mailings, fees, or requirements.Zooey wrote:Has anybody, particularly those admitted off the wait list, seen any movement on their application status page?

I am about as late to this game as I could possibly be, but is there anyone who would be willing to proof a LOCI for me to NYU?

My advice is to try to incorporate as many swear words and disparaging remarks about the committee's mothers as you can.SecondAidenn wrote:I am about as late to this game as I could possibly be, but is there anyone who would be willing to proof a LOCI for me to NYU?
Then, you may be asking the wrong people for help in this

Did anyone get a call from the admissions office today asking if you're still interested in being considered for admission?

Got a call around 9:00 a.m. Pacific time to see if I'm still interested in remaining under consideration and what my current plans are. The representative suggested that they may be making a small number of admissions offers in the coming weeks.thereelshaq wrote:czelede wrote:Yes!Siamsa414 wrote:Did anyone get a call from the admissions office today asking if you're still interested in being considered for admission?

Also in via voicemail!
Does anyone know if accepting the WL offer means we have to withdraw from other waitlists?
Edit: also, does anyone know how long we have to respond to the offer? They didn't say.

Congrats! I doubt that you have to withdraw, although I imagine the forms will have more info. You don't have to withdraw when accepting other offers, after all.czelede wrote:Also in via voicemail!

Thanks! I have no idea. I am stunned. I've never even been to NYC. I'll have to think long and hard before my June 10 deadline.cornhusker wrote:HOORAY! and Congrats! Will you go?

Re: NYU Waitlist 2011
Yeah I only wonder about this because the verbiage of Chicago's WL acceptance seemed to imply that you had to withdraw elsewhere. It seems a little tight if all the forms we'll receive are via snail mail but we only have 10 days to make a decision! Here's hoping USPS is speedy.Siamsa414 wrote:Congrats! I think that if you had to withdraw from other waitlists, then it has to be stated explicitly and clearly, kind of like it is stated on the ED form. Additionally, is there no talk on your UChi acceptance and deposit request about losing your deposit if you withdraw? Is it just asking to deposit by a certain date without any other info?

It looks like I was wrong about the UChi acceptance - after a closer look, they do say you're allowed to stay on waitlists. I think I was thinking of Berkeley, who says you are explicitly supposed to withdraw - but that's not for WL -> A, just the "second response form" (and that's probably because they don't have deposits). I think NYU should likely be the same (as Chicago) then.antonin wrote:
