I got a 2nd reserve email today despite the fact that I withdrew via email when I received the first one in April

not to be a debbie downer but check out last year's held thread. totally brutal. i think almost everyone just kept getting strung along until the end of august

Actually, that's kind of bad news for those of us with 2nd reserves... it means yield was strong, as expected. I thought our best chance for getting off reserve was during first reserve, on the small chance that yield was a little weaker due to the drop in applications. That obviously was not the case. From now on we're just waiting for actual, deposited students to drop out... and that would probably mean they got off a WL at HYS... which is also unlikely.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble. Just thought I'd offer my analysis.

No e-mail for me either I did have issues with the response though, but I e-mailed them about it after I received the Reserve offer and they confirmed with me that I had been added in manually - but there wasn't an official letter or anything like that.

no email. afraid to check my mailbox because i live abroad and posted letters take a long time to get to me.

I got a rejection in the mail. Oh well. Honestly it's nice to just be done with it rather than be strung along all summer and get my hopes up considering I was a long shot to even be waitlisted with my stats.

from what i remember, they review them over again completely - and the order isn't clear - so i imagine that you will receive some sort of notice when they re-review your file. the fact that you haven't heard anything might mean that your file is still under review, or it could mean rejection - i think the process is a lot less organized than before (if that's possible).

I had a personal handwritten note on my first letter, but not on this one. Should I assume that means they just don't like me as much or did anyone else get a handwritten note the first time but not this time?

first e-mail notifying me i was no longer considered was yesterday. letter putting me back on was today.

+1. Please wrap up my cycle, in one way or another NYU and Columbia. Although, I suppose I can conclude that NYU is pretty much wiped out at this point, given the number of offers they made early on and the fact that those orders have come to a quick stop. That just leaves you CLS. Help me out.
