I just responded to you on the LSU thread, so hello here, too!prea5356 wrote:I'm in via status checker! with scholarship consideration....blah
Congrats! Are you in anywhere else yet? I'm still waiting on four schools entirely, but it looks like I'll be making this deposit. I'm going to call to make sure it isn't binding.

Emailed admissions to give them the chance to make a counter offer on 03/02 and haven't heard back other than being told the email was being forwarded to the correct person.cartercl wrote:Yeah, I feel you on this one. If they can't come close to making tuition comparable to in-state + scholarship at LSU I don't think I'll consider Loyola either, although I want to work in New Orleans. You should have received some money at Loyola if you have numbers for a scholarship at LSU. That's odd.BLin98 wrote:Rcvd my acceptance letter to Loyola today with no scholarship offers of any kind. It seems odd that I would get some amount yet unknown scholarship to LSU and yet Loyno wants me to pay sticker. Even MS College in Jackson offered a 2/3 scholarship with a top 50% stipulation.
I’ll drop admissions a line in another week or two and let them know that unless Loyno can offer something to make the tuition comparable to instate + partial scholarship at LSU then I will be looking for an apartment in Baton Rouge.
Good luck to anyone still waiting.
MS College $29,000
LSU $39,000
Loyola $110,000

It seems Loyola has a GPA requirement of 3.0 for all scholarships as far as LSN go. This sucks for the 2.95 men and women...

Is this date for everyone? I thought the deposit was due april 15 now I am freaking out. I tried calling but was told by admissions staff that they do not make a copy of our admissions letters and have no way of knowing when our seat deposit is. I am out of town and didn't bring the letter.mr_pink wrote:+1LawBound11 wrote:Does anyone know if the first seat deposit (April 1st) is binding? I'm going to assume the April 1st deadline is for people that heard much earlier in the cycle. My deadline is April 15th.dey206 wrote:Is this date for everyone? Re: Loyola - New Orleans
I might have my dates crossed, but I will check my letter when I get home. I just heard a few weeks ago, so it hasn't been very long. I'll post again after I re-check, but I thought it was the 1st. (I really need to call this week to find out if it's binding, no matter the day. I'm still waiting to hear back from 4 schools, and WL at 2.)Ford Prefect wrote:I'm going to assume the April 1st deadline is for people that heard much earlier in the cycle. Re: Loyola - New Orleans
The seat deposit is not due April 1st. I have my letter in front of me and it reads, "The first installment, in the amount of $150.00, is non-refundable and must be received in the law admissions office by April 15, 2011. The second installment, in the amount of $350.00, must be received in the law admissions office by May 16, 2011. (Postmarked by the deadline is not sufficient.) The $350.00 second installment of the tuition deposit is refundable through June 1, 2011, if the request for refund is received in writing by the law admissions office."
There are also instructions for paying the deposits online.

Got a call back today, my deposit is due April 15. Like another poster mentioned, some people have different dates.

Yup. Daniel Diaz just clarified on Facebook. Odd that they stagger the dates; I'm glad I got the later of the two. For anyone not on Facebook, if you got the April 1st date and are attending the April 8th Open House, you can request an extension.dey206 wrote:+1amd34119 wrote:The seat deposit is not due April 1st. For anyone curious about the scholarship %, the dean was only able to tell me the top 10% of the class land at a 3.2. A little scary considering the stipulation of 2.7

If your status tracker reads "scholarship consideration" (or whatever) I was told they'd be sending that info out starting around April 1st.prea5356 wrote:hmmm I wonder when they are gonna start sending out scholarship information......

Was there anyone that was able to go to the ASD on 03/18/11 that would share their thoughts?
I couldn't take another day off of work.

I feel like a got quite a bit from it, but I'm wanting to visit. I'm still waiting to hear back from most of my other schools, but I have a feeling I'll be paying the seat deposit next week here.
