I maybe stand corrected. http://lawschoolnumbers.com/satajo
Looks like they got their answer on the 18th of December two years ago. I think the deadline has always been December 1 as well.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
Apparently they had a nice boost to ED applicants, over and above the expected boost based on increase applications overall. I'm guessing the great firm-placement numbers have pushed their profile up. So color me worried. Which I think is a bluish-gray color.[/quote]

See edit above. Google "increase early decision northwestern". There a million articles. All of them are about undergrad. I should know better than to just trust commentary in an email without checking the link.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
I should just start editing older posts, or waiting to post. On the topic of increased applicants, I could be way off. With fewer people taking the LSAT this October than the previous year, I suppose we can HOPE for a little less competition. Although I am going to guess that a good portion of the difference were students who were lower scoring anyway. All guesses. So basically, same old same old I suppose.

I think I was in the first round of ED accepts and I got the email on December 22nd last year.Remnantofisrael wrote:21st the year before that. Ok- I'm done. Suffice to say, we should know before christmas if things go like normal. Wait wait wait....
It was from Johann Lee and the subject line read: Northwestern Law - Early Decision Program.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
no decision yet. I wouldn't even bother looking till after the 12th, and likely not before the 18th from historical data. This post will blow up when first round rolls I think. Not LSAT release blow up, but a bunch of posts. I think I'm throwing everyone off with all these posts. Its like a flame without even trying.

Northwestern seems tough to predict...we all know they like 2+ years of WE but otherwise what do they seem to prefere from ED apps? Are they like UVA and love high GPS? It seems that a 170+ LSAT and just about any GPA gives you a good chance? Any thoughts?

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
That's what it seems like. There are a number of examples of 170, 2.9gpa folks who have good WE getting in early decision. In fact, I can't see a single person who got rejected with a higher than 170 who ED'd last year. I mean, there are a few waitlists which are pretty much the same thing, but even those are few and far for ED. Also interesting is that there were a LOT of low LSAT low GPA ed'ers a couple years back for some reason (I mean, the sample size I'm looking at is small, so who really knows). They got rejected.Snape wrote:Northwestern seems tough to predict...we all know they like 2+ years of WE but otherwise what do they seem to prefere from ED apps? Are they like UVA and love high GPS? Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
I have my interview tomorrow! It was supposed to be on Monday but he postponed...I'm kinda nervous kinda excited to have my file finally ready. didn't think about how my file wouldn't even be complete until after the interviewer actually sends in his notes....
my interviewer is like 40 or something. My boyfriend's was like 2 years outta law school so it was easy to talk to him. Did anyone run into any problems talking to an older alum?

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
My interviewer had been practicing for 22 years and I did not have a problem talking to him. He acknowledged that it was a while ago that he attended, but still answered all of my questions and talked about how the connections he made at Northwestern are still helpful 20+ years later.Gotti wrote:I have my interview tomorrow! Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
Do the early decisions generally come out all at once (like within 48 hours) or are they more spread out? I've done some searching and am not sure- figured someone else might know.

I applied ED. 166 LSAT and 4.1 UGPA at University of Iowa. No work experience but I did do 1 year of Dental School at Iowa. Guess I'm cautiously optimistic.

Yup! That's what happened with me, too. The guy was really chill...I asked him about what it was like in terms of student culture, etc. In the end, at the very least I learned more about the school.Gotti wrote:Good luck, I had mine yesterday!NZA wrote:Heading to my interview today...send me good energy!

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
I did the application process backwards and interviewed first, then submitted my application. I was worried that it'd be harder to match up my interview with my application that way, but today I saw this in the status checker:
Your application was received on 12/12/2010 and is complete as of 12/13/2010.
Does anybody know if that status changes at all as your app goes through review or will it stay like that until you hear back?

If I remember right from last year it stays that way until you get an email saying you've been admitted, then they post a PDF letter of admission there. I don't know what happens in case of WLs and rejects.xtine wrote:I did the application process backwards and interviewed first, then submitted my application. I did this too... I don't think it's necessarily backwardsxtine wrote:I did the application process backwards and interviewed first, then submitted my application. I was worried that it'd be harder to match up my interview with my application that way, but today I saw this in the status checker:

I'd love to know the answer to that too, ugh status checking!

Pretty sure they all come the same way (email then PDF) for accept/WLs/rejects but they did come in batches when I was applying
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
