Re: Chapman 2011!
Got an email today that my application is incomplete... due to the fact that I didnt finish the MFA application. Which is weird... cause I finished the JD app. I'm thinking screw it cause the film school never calls me back.

Re: Chapman 2011!
Does Chapman include scholarship offers with the acceptance package or do they come in a separate letter?
I received my packet today and was shocked to see no scholarship info. My GPA sucks, but I figured with a 164 LSAT I would get something...

yeah, this is pretty surprising. I don't know if chapman has a scholarship floor. is your gpa sub 3.0?fragged wrote:Does Chapman include scholarship offers with the acceptance package or do they come in a separate letter?

Yes, my GPA is under 3.0, but I have gotten scholarship money from schools who are typically much less generous with their awards and who are also ranked much higher than Chapman.
Tuition is $41k, totally overpriced for their respective ranking... so there is no way I would attend at sticker. Can I negotiate a scholarship if I was not offered one in the admission packet?

you might be able to get something, but it sounds like it won't be worth your energy. good luck wherever you land.fragged wrote:Yes, my GPA is under 3.0, but I have gotten scholarship money from schools who are typically much less generous with their awards and who are also ranked much higher than Chapman.

Re: Chapman 2011!
So I was just browsing other forums, and I learned that maintaining a 3.0 for the scholarship is more difficult to do on a 2.8 grading scale (which apparently Chapman has). Someone said this is equivalent to staying in the top third of the class... Is this true? And who would I contact to ask about approximately what percentage of students keep their scholarships? Thanks!

3.0 is about top 37%. Financial aid people will give you an exact number on how many keep it. I think its only like 65%.conroyc wrote:So I was just browsing other forums, and I learned that maintaining a 3.0 for the scholarship is more difficult to do on a 2.8 grading scale (which apparently Chapman has). I'll be attending the open house...I'm definitely interested to find out how many students keep their scholarships.

Thanks guys!
I'm going to try to make the open house, but it's kind of far from New York. How long until you received scholarship information, libear?

Re: Chapman 2011!
So chapman is my #1 choice because of geography and reality. My GPA is 3.45, LSAT 161, and I also have an MPH, and my graduate GPA was 3.9 (if that even matters). My entire app is complete but I haven't submitted it yet because I'm planning on taking the LSAT once more in Feb to up my chances of acceptance as well as my scholarship chances. What I'm wanting to know is 1)my chance of acceptance and 2) is it stupid to wait to submit my application until I get my second LSAT score because it will be later in the cycle? I would really like to try and get a 100% scholarship. Any input would be great, esp from current chapman law students. Thanks!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
