Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Sent mine in 10/15, complete 10/26, hold email this morning at 4AM CST.
My numbers are not UT standard so I don't know if that bodes well. GPA is above median, LSAT score is below 25th, not URM.

I just got a phone call as well! I sounded overly excited. Because I was.
Then I ran around Times Square with an attorney and took 2 shots of Cuervo. YAY!

Wow we must be stark contrasts because I had to talk in a business tone. I have to work until 6 and have class until 9, I wish I could go drink something...CHEERios585 wrote:I just got a phone call as well! I sounded overly excited. Because I was.

Pshh. I have to work until like midnight tonight. But if you're gonna be a lawyer, you gotta know how to drink like one.r6_philly wrote:Wow we must be stark contrasts because I had to talk in a business tone. Oh I do, but I wouldn't want to sit in class for 3 hours itching for more drinks...CHEERios585 wrote:Pshh. I have to work until like midnight tonight. lol just checked... 4:00am is when the email is post marked. It has to be some sort of program set to run over night, or maybe the UT admissions staff is just that hardcore.Marionberry wrote:What time did everyone get their "hold" email? Dropping my EA as soon as my new LSAT score drops. Anything above a 165 gives me a great shot at Texas, since I'm still a resident of (disregard my avatar).

It looks like in years past they have sent out batches of hold emails, seemingly one day after another. I'm hoping that's not the case, but I'm trying to brace myself for it.Tiva wrote:lol just checked... 4:00am is when the email is post marked. Any plans now re: early decision somewhere? Are you gonna try and wait it out or bite the ED bullet somewhere?

In! Just got the call. I had myself convinced it wasn't going to happen so I'm very excited. She mentioned they'd like to offer a scholarship and that information would come subsequently. So happy.

I believe all apps before a certain date (Nov. 1st maybe) are considered ED. Doesnt matter if you choose RD or not I dont think.2011Cycle wrote:Congrats. ED or RD?rupret1 wrote:App was submitted 10/5, got notice from UT that it was under review as of 10/11.

Texas has an Early Action program (non-binding ED) with a deadline, however people can choose not to check that bubble and apply "regular decision" in October. I have no idea why anyone would do that, but it is possible.

Even if someone checks the RD bubble, they still get considered for early action, from what I've seen.BarnabeSpooge wrote:Texas has an Early Action program (non-binding ED) with a deadline, however people can choose not to check that bubble and apply "regular decision" in October. Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
Thanks. I missed the notation on the application stating ED is on-binding. I do not understand the logistical advantage to the school having non-binding ED, especially when they guarantee responses in January. Isn't January a time period when many competitive candidates gain admission at other similarly ranked schools.tkgrrett wrote:I believe all apps before a certain date (Nov. 1st maybe) are considered ED. Same here, and I wasn't told to expect any cash. Which is pretty much fine with me.osalinas44 wrote:

Re: Texas 2011 Applicants
I got "conditionally accepted" pending my residency status. I had applied as a resident since I went to high school in Texas and my parents still live there. But when I talked to the residency office, they told me I no longer qualify since I've been living out of state after college for a year.
So now my application goes back to the bottom of the nonresident pile for reevaluation. FML.
