Acceptances are coming by Fedex, does anyone know how rejections and WLs are coming? Guessing from the status checker I would guess snail mail but I'm guessing.

okay so in a rush to schedule an interview before the deadline which is like 10 minutes i have scheduled an interview. regarding the virtual vuls site, am i able to edit the interests and stuff after I have registered? I signed up in a hurry and didn't read through half of it.

also, what exactly do they usually ask in the interview?

Depends on the interviewer. I've heard they do a rundown of your resume and talk about your future goals. Mine was a conversation about the school and other things like politics and sports. It all depends on your alum.

Mine was all the things described above minus politics.

Mine was actually really awkward...the interviewer graduated in the 1970s and hadn't been there in years, so he couldn't really speak much to the culture of the school now. He also said he didn't like it much when he went there and that if I wanted to stay and work in my current state to go to a different school. I maybe got 10 sentences out the entire interview because he talked so much (and I REALLY tried to engage in the conversation). I'm usually a really good interviewer, but this one caught me pretty off guard, and I have no idea how his opinion ended up being about me...

so, basically, be prepared for just about anything haha

I requested an interview on the 7th and still haven't been contacted by an interviewer. Called admissions, they told me to email the interview address, at which point I was given an apology and to let them know if I hear from the interviewer before they do.

Either way, I submitted on the 19th, and apparently went complete (without the interview) today, or at least that's what my email said...

well hopefully I don't get an interview until mid to late December. I still have to learn more about the school in case I get asked about it during the interview.

Same thing happened to me, see my post above.
They recommend if you haven't heard back from an interviewer in two weeks to email the address they give you on the interview page (something like [email protected]). I did this and I still haven't heard back from the interviewer, but the school has in fact contacted me apologizing. So I would recommend you do that until they nudge the alum to contact you.

And your application is SUPPOSED to be held until your interview, but apparently mine went complete today without it...

Has anyone else had an interview with someone from the admissions office instead of an alum? Just got an email from them for an interview next week via skype. If someone has, was it similar to the interviews with alums decribed above?
Bit nervous about it!

This happened to me as well. I went complete on 11/19 but my interview was on 11/23.

Does anyone have an idea of exactly how much of a factor the interview is in admissions? Like, is it as big a factor as it is at NW?

I think most people say the interview is there to make sure you aren't some kind of sociopath.

I really hope that is all the interview is trying to ensure, because my interview went not so well. The interviewer met me, but had to be someplace in 20 minutes and didn't actually seem to want to talk.

Sucks. At least it has more to do with him being a jerk than you being a bad applicant.

That's upsetting, considering the alums they pull are obviously voluntary...

Decision mailed 12/6!!! After Duke PRed me, Vandy is probably my top choice, close with GULC. I hope to see a FedEx package sometime this week!
