Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I have a question for you guys that already submitted-
So I checked yes on the little box on the application that asked if I'm going to be applying for financial aid, and I saw that there's the supplemental application for it, but do I HAVE to fill that out now (I want to apply asap and don't have all that info off-hand) or can I just apply, leave all that blank, send in the application/resume/ps now, and mail all that info in later if I get in?
Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
Submitted my application yesterday. Is this still considered early, or am I pretty much right on time?
I really don't know how the process works. LSAC says they've sent a report to a request from WUSTL. Anyone much smarter than I want to explain how the process works and how long it usually takes?

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
So I'm complete at every. single. school. of the 21 I have pending apps at...with the special exception of Wash U. My 2nd LOR was processed on 11/5 and sent to Wash U soon after, and every other school has received the LOR. My last status checker update at Wash U was like 10/16, too. Odd.
Anyone else with a similar lag? How long do you think I should wait to get in touch with the admissions office?

Patience, padawan. WUSTL admissions works in mysterious ways, e.g. not sending me an email last year notifying me that I was accepted. Status checkers can be unreliable. Wouldn't rely on 'em as 100% accurate representations of what's happening with your application. They're more like a brilliant way for adcomms to get people to stop calling every 5 minutes to see if they've been accepted yet.ads222 wrote:So I'm complete at every. single. school. of the 21 I have pending apps at...with the special exception of Wash U. Just thought I would say that my status checker e-mail wound up in my junk e-mail folder. Thankfully I checked it, so if you have been waiting awhile that might be where it is.
Here's hoping that WashU's slow response reptuation does not hold up for this cycle. Good Luck everyone! Lord knows some of us need it!

With your numbers, I'd give you a 95% chance of being accepted by the first week in December. 166/3.9 is basically auto-admit at WUSTL. But they don't really start admitting people until December. Patience my friend!HeavenWood wrote:In review 11/17. Hopefully I'll hear back before Christmas?

That would be great! Looking on LSN, it seems most people with my numbers get half-rides.JCougar wrote:With your numbers, I'd give you a 95% chance of being accepted by the first week in December. 166/3.9 is basically auto-admit at WUSTL. Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I've been meeting regularly for drinks after work with an old UG friend who went to WUSTL and just graduated in May. All I can say is that I'm a jersey/manhattan boy, and my friend is far less charateristically jersey/NYCish than I am (please hold the jersey jokes, tnx!), and he really really hated the city. Speaks very highly of the school, but really hated the city. Then again, if you're an NYer, besides LA/Miami/Chicago, it's going to be really hard to find a city that you won't find below your expectations of what a city aught to be.username99 wrote:Is St. Louis appealing to those from the Northeast? Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I've lived in Chicago before, and been to Miami many times, DC a few times, and New York only once. St. Louis is not any of these cities. But it's also not Champaign, IL; Ithaca, NY; South Bend, IN; Charlottesville, VA; Iowa City, etc. You could do a lot worse regarding schools in its general range.gdizz01 wrote:I've been meeting regularly for drinks after work with an old UG friend who went to WUSTL and just graduated in May. My impression of St. Louis is that it holds its own while being incredibly cheap for a city of its size. There's everything you could possibly want out of a big city here (sports, theaters, museums, parks), but it's just in smaller doses compared to cosmopolitan hot spots like NY, Chicago, Miami, DC, etc. The biggest difference is simply the night-life options. If you like big clubs and crazy nightlife going on until 4am or later (which is kind of up my alley), you're really not going to find that here outside of some isolated places. But there's definitely enough to keep you busy when you're not already busy studying. I'm not sure how much I'd want to live here after school, but if I had to take a job here, it wouldn't be the end of the world. And I'm definitely a big city person.

Hey there WUSTL applicants. I am a WUSTL 1L, so I was just in your shoes a year ago. If anybody has any questions, you can PM me or ask me in the Q's thread I started (http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 4&t=130775).

I'm at 'Application Received" as of 11/17. Unfortunately, I know I won't be hearing anything back for quite a long time as I'm retaking in December to get a couple of extra points. This is going to be a long, long process...

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
I can probably find this info somewhere else, but if anyone here can answer it would be appreciated.
1) How long does it take to receive a decision from WUSTL? I have been under review since 11/10.
2) Does WUSTL send scholarship offers with their acceptance package? If not, when can they be expected?

Re: WUSTL 2011 Cycle
1. WUSTL can take a little longer than most schools, it seems. Last year they sent out batches of acceptances first before doing WLs and rejections. I know of some people who waited a LONG time for a decision.bdubs wrote:I can probably find this info somewhere else, but if anyone here can answer it would be appreciated.

2. If I remember correctly, they tell you in the email if you are up for scholarship consideration and then send the scholarship total later.
And no problem, excellence.

According to a new study analyzing cities based on their FBI statistics for murder, rape, robbery, and assault, St. Louis is the most dangerous city in America. The Gateway City was followed by Camden, NJ, Detroit, MI, Flint, MI, and Oakland, CA. Erica Van Ross, a rep for the St. Louis Police Department, called it "irresponsible" to use crime data for the sole purpose of making listicles. In any case, New York City is the 269th most dangerous place in the United States, though danger is perhaps all relative.

That was from NY Magazine's website.username99 wrote:According to a new study analyzing cities based on their FBI statistics for murder, rape, robbery, and assault, St. Louis is the most dangerous city in America.
