Re: George Mason 2011 Applicants
I just received my login info for GMU. For some reason, they have my 'perm. state' listed as VA, but my 'residency' listed as 'out-of-state'. Has this happened to any other VA residents? I did submit the application for in-state tuition separately. Is that simply my residency status until my in-state application is approved?
@ Komaliie - Apparently it is for internal use only. You can disregard that date.

I had to the same issue. It not says in-state. Apparently there is some lag with the in-state application. Good luck.3|ink wrote:I just received my login info for GMU. Same. It changed to in-state a couple of days later. Just give them some time to process your form.

Anyone receive an admit packet yet? If so, did it include financial aid info?

The turnaround for this batch seemed to be no less than eight weeks.YankeesFan wrote:I havent even received a decision yet....

with a 160 and 3.6 Mason is definitely a BIG reach for me, but I really like their concentration in economics (Im an econ major) and their conservative leaning. Hoping for a miracle since statistically its not look real good for me...

Decision rendered according to the status checker as of this morning. Says I should expect to receive the decision shortly. Do they notify by e-mail?

+1 according to the status checker. There's no decision or decision date information anymore. I'm also wondering how I should expect to be notified. Do they always call for admits?ndbrenner wrote:Decision rendered according to the status checker as of this morning. Says I should expect to receive the decision shortly. Do they notify by e-mail?

I have the same status. From what I can tell, they make phone calls for acceptances, emails for rejections and mail for waitlists I think. I'm assuming that if there isn't a phone call this afternoon that it will be bad news.

Got a denial email this morning. I'm 168+ 3.9+ so I'm guessing yield protection. Didn't know GM was so bad about that.

Re: George Mason 2011 Applicants
That was a really quick turnaround! I applied 11/30 and thought there was no chance I'd hear from anyone before Christmas. I hope I hear back (either way) as soon as you did. Can you PM me your numbers?3|ink wrote:In this morning via very nice phone call. I applied 11/24. I don't remember when it went complete. PM me if you want to know my stats.

For some reason status checker still has my file as incomplete. Does GMU wait for the paper app to get there like some other schools? I can't think of any other reason it would be incomplete.

Hurricane!!!! I read your post, checked my e-mail, and FREAKED out when I saw an e-mail from George Mason. LOL
Acccepted via E-MAIL, no phone call.
on another note, do you think there is any significance for not getting a phone call? The e-mail was personalized though.....
What do you guys think?

Re: George Mason 2011 Applicants
LOL my bad. From LSN and this thread, it seems that everyone who has been accepted got a phone call and all the e-mails were rejections. I've still heard nothing despite my status saying a decision was made today. Starting to think that a waitlist letter might be in the mail, which might not be the worst thing ever but the wait is killing me.

Rejected and lulzing over it (166/3.94).
I already got into a superior school (W&M) with $$$, so I don't care much. I'm just hoping this was a reflection of YP and not something wrong with my application.

That is odd. I can't think of a reason they'd do that.Henchman21 wrote:hurricane10 wrote:I have the same status. Re: George Mason 2011 Applicants
I'm getting sad, thinking I probably have a WL in the mail.
Either that, or their waiting for Dec. LSAT, but I didn't tell them to wait.
I can't sign into LSN because it says "there is a problem with sessions". Bleh.

Re: George Mason 2011 Applicants
I called Dean Price (anonymously), and she said that GMU's scholarship budget is so low, if she feels an applicant will likely not attend, she waitlists them. If she's "sure" they won't attend, she rejects them. I have to give her a lot of credit though, she was very candid and did offer to set up a time with me to go over my application to tell me why I was specifically rejected (but I already know...).3|ink wrote:That is odd.
