I bet they got tired of people calling... I saw the e-mail and got excited but I submitted 11/1 and my status is just ready for review.

Anybody OOS UR. I'm thinking they'll review as many IS people with competitive numbers as possible and then get on most OOS.

I wondered that, too. Sure, they've got all the warnings in their emails not to call, but you can't spend an ungodly amount of time reviewing applications with no status checker and expect people to listen to you.

So now we've got a status checker. Wee.

Got my status checker today too. I have to say I'm a bit put off by UNC's process (not doing rolling admissions, a status checker only to "appease the people," etc). As a current UNC undergrad I can definitely speak to the fact that Carolina is very full of itself and has less than helpful administrative employees.

I was a UNC (insert other campus here) student and we always believed Carolina was full of itself, although it's true they are the best university in the UNC system. Carolina is good, but they obviously believe they have special status, as their application takes about 10x longer to complete than any of the other schools I applied to.

haha yep! thats why it was the last app I submitted. I kept putting it off. And they are taking a LONG time to roll out acceptances. Oh wells. I'd still totally consider them if I got in

I checked it earlier this morning and there was no change from Under Review 12/21. Now it says Decision Rendered 12/22 and Congratulations, You've Been Admitted! 12/22.

I wonder if they don't change them until after they send out emails...

When I got the status checker email this week, I logged on and it already said in review with a date of like 12/13. Then I got the email today and now it says something like admitted, congratulations.
