That's a good idea. I think if you do that, first change it to *Indiana University* and then maybe change more-- so it isnt the exact same otherwise. Add a little more about the school.

Be quick though so you catch them before they read the original.

Dear Admissions Committee –

While reviewing my recently submitted application packet, I discovered that I mistakenly attached an incorrect version of my personal statement. I profusely apologize for this error and ask that you replace the originally submitted statement with the one I have attached to this email. Again, I apologize for this oversight and for the inconvenience.

Thank you

I received an email back a few minutes later simply stating "No problem. It has been replaced."

I was accepted at the school and even received some scholarship money. It really sucks but it doesn't necessarily mean the end of the road at that school. However, I don't think ignoring the mistake is going to help your cause. Its not like they aren't going to notice. Like the previous poster stated at least let them know you care enough about the application to try and fix the error.

Good luck.

thanks for the Advice

its worth a shot at least.

Just wrote and sent in the new copy, it actually turned out a lot better than I expected/better than the original, so this may end up being a plus for me....

probably not though

I'm complete at IUB too. I haven't looked to see if they stuck to the 6-8 timeline last year, but I'd sure love to get some word by mid-december.

How long did it take for you guys to get your status checker e-mails? I haven't received any e-mails from IU since applying almost a week ago.

Sadly, there is no status checker.

Thanks! Did you at least get an "application received" or "application complete" e-mail?

I received an application received email about a week after I submitted and the application complete email about a month after that.

Visited IU-B on Tuesday and had a great experience. I know they are in review now.

Does anyone know IU-B's stance on deferrals?

I think I read somewhere that the reason for requesting a deferral would have to be an extenuating circumstance.

Judging from the 6-8 week email several of us got on NOV. 8 and the first batch of acceptances from last year, I would say we still a week and a half at least... (but i hope its soon!)

Even assuming no URM boost, I think you have a decent shot if last year is any indication. They seem to like 165+ LSAT:

Good luck! :)

quick question - did any of you guys receive fee waivers through email requests (also if you could post or PM me your stats)? My numbers are 3.3X 165 LSAT and although my numbers are stellar, being able to get a fee waiver would be awesome! Thanks in advance

I got one with #s at or below, so you're fine. Request, hopefully they have them still avail.

I didn't ask, but I had a hidden one. You might want to check before asking.

Great; thanks for the responses! I am retaking the LSAT this Sat and will be completing my app over the weekend. If I don't see a hidden waiver, I will not feel wary/ridiculous for asking them for one. Thanks again!

My letter said early February, but it looks like in the past they've had decisions out as early as mid-Jan.

does anybody else think that iub gave out an awful lot of $120,000 scholarships last year? i am hoping for a good scholarship, but it seems like a lot of kids with a 163 (my lsat) got waitlisted/rejected and then a bunch of 164s received great scholarships...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
