Amidst the incessant stream of rumors and speculation, THAT is some pretty useful information.
she could call us from her hammock in Hawaii....
I hope she is reviewing my application while in Hawaii. It would put her in a good mood.
I hope she drunk dials me from Hawaii. Gooooo team pina colada!

I was accepted today off the waitlist, got the call around 1:30 EST. I didn't send any targeted LOR, or any other additional info/material. I told Dead Deal, I'd think about it, but I'l likely withdraw tomorrow. Hope someone else gets the spot and keep the faith!

based on her LawSchoolNumbers she is going to Harvard. Wow, she was waitlist -> accepted at both Harvard and Stanford.
She is an AA female btw, so its likely they replace her with someone similar.

Yup, that's true. Stanford was my first choice, and I'd would have likely committed there had they called first. I just don't want to lose yet another deposit, and I've already made plans and am excited about moving to MA.

The forfeiting deposit policy that these law schools have adopted when you are admitted off of waiting lists seems kind of ridiculous. I imagine it adds up to a significant amount of money for the school by the end of the application cycle. When I was applying to med school the AAMC bound all applicants to a May 15 deadline . All applicants were ethically bound to commit to one school by this deadline and you were in big trouble if you held multiple spots after this deadline. No one had to pay any money. Then if you were admitted off a waiting list, the school called you to make the offer and also asked if you were currently holding a spot elsewhere and where that was (they could find out through the AAMC system if you werent upfront). They called that school to also let them know you were offered a spot to make sure everyone gets the communication of your decision. You generally only had a few days to decide depending on the school and time of year.
You werent repeatedly out of 750 dollars for each waitlist movement. I did not unfortunately apply to Stanford (and Berkeley). I took the Feb LSAT and didnt decide to apply this year until after receiving my score and both schools were strict about their Feb 1 deadline. As a Californian, QOL in CA is amazing but I dont have the luxury of that choice, and of course HLS is amazing!
I just think LSAC needs to take the deposit factor out of the equation for waitlist applicants. It seems unnecessary and unfair.

I'm signing a lease next week and kindly requested a decision by then, as I can't remain on the WL past that point. Hopefully this doesn't screw me, but I really can't afford to sign a lease and pay some ridiculous termination fee (and I don't want to screw my awesome roomates!).

I believe it. Tons of people applied this cycle, and I heard Yale was full, so people in at Stanford but on the WL at Yale are probably finalizing their plans. Oh well...

I still have hope! All of the movement on the Harvard waitlist could perhaps have residual impacts throughout the summer.

I called today and asked if the class was finalized and was told the class was full and they are finalizing acceptances. Then I asked if that was from the second deposit and she said yes. She was very nice.

I'd say deferrals and movement on the Harvard WL, for those who really want Harvard, are about our only shots left...

Of course. And this statement that the class is "full" is kind of meaningless. Of course it's full. Until it's not. And then they pull someone off the WL. So it's full until someone they had counted on showing up defers, or gets pulled off a more desireable WL (only Y or H at this level), or makes a decision on a double deposit, or whatever. The class was "full" a month ago. Then some more people decided not to show up.
