perhaps i should call admissions.. or has anyone done that?

thanks!
I called a long time ago and asked if they planned on accepting people from the reserve list--they said they were planning on taking some of us. If you do call, please let us know what they say! I am sure a more recent answer would be helpful
How do you think they will notify those who get in? Via email? Snail mail?

In the past, it seems like accepted people found out via email and those who were rejected/put on 2nd reserve found out via snail mail.

Ah Ok. Well, it's encouraging that there may be some movement on the list. I was worried b/c some classes at other schools seem to be filled (e.g. Chicago)

But I had called them a while ago...so I'm not sure if anything has changed...

Any idea when they'll do the 1st reserve/2nd reserve switcheroo? June?

If you're on reserve right now, it's "first" reserve. From here, we'll either be accepted, rejected, or put on "second reserve." It just means another round of the waitlist, albeit a smaller one since some people have been accepted/rejected.

My understanding was that everyone on "first reserve" would be given one of the above three decisions sometime in late May or early June (correct me if I'm wrong.)

Let's hope that the whole WL "food chain" plays to our favor, given the minor movement at YLS/HLS and hopefully SLS.

Submitted a "modified" LOCI today. That is, I submitted a letter indicating I would immediately enroll/pay whatever they wanted upon a space opening up for me, but that I have nothing to add to my already near-deadline application...except that I've continued working. I figured they'd just want reassurance now that if they call you, you'll say yes. IDK. It it ends up hurting me, so be it. Also sent it now so that maybe it sort-of seems like something new in my app very close to their reevaluation time. W/E! Luck to all...

Looks like May 1. Deadline for deferral is June 1.

I think they make a wave of Reserve decisions at the end of May. So, hopefully things get crackin' next week.

Did anyone else get a reserve letter saying that the admissions office would try to give us a decision by May 17th?

I was told in my letter they would reevaluate at the end of May. But no specific date.

Just called them, and they said we would get 1 of 3 decisions in June. They couldn't/wouldn't comment on May movement on the waitlist.

I don't think anyone got new letters---did they?? Absolut86, were you asking about a new letter, or did they give you a specific date in your original reserve letter? :?

I just got an e-mail from Columbia telling me that, since I never replied to their reserve notification, I had been removed from contention. Uh, I didn't think any reply was requested, but I guess I'm okay with this as I don't really want to spend summer playing Columbia's mindgames.
