Does anyone know if there’s a way to contact Deanna directly/privately to ask about a department’s hiring status?
In her latest update, she says to reach out to AskOARM@usdoj.gov.

Personally called them about something last week and left a voicemail, got a call back within 48 hours.

Anyone have updates on OCIJ? I haven't heard back yet and it's making me anxious... any info would help. Thanks!

Yeah…I also still haven’t heard back and don’t know whether to just assume I’m not getting an offer or what. Anyone know if there’s a cutoff for when we’ll know?

I think there is a broad slowdown with DOJ EOIR and Fed Gov hiring generally b/c of Congress' budget issues. I haven't heard of anybody getting an offer since the first round.

No clue, but I’m curious to know. It’s been two months since I sent my EQIP. I received a follow-up question a month ago, but it’s been silence since then. I’m assuming this is normal?

I went through this a few years back, I checked my e-mails and I didn't hear back about anything until the beginning of May. So yeah, sounds normal.

I submitted my eQIP at the end of December and I'm somewhere in the middle of my investigation. I've been fingerprinted and drug tested, had my interview at the end of the last week, and my references have been reached out to as well. I'm not sure how long this phase of things takes but I know it varies widely from person to person and across components.

Does it vary depending on start date? I’m not expected to start until November, so I wonder if that’s part of the hold up.

You have a start date? Or when asked when you could start you put November?

Sorry, I should clarify, I assumed the person asking was talking about hearing from their hiring component. Yes, by this point I'd been drug tested and interviewed; I can't remember when I did my fingerprints, and the references were at various times before/after this (I know at least one was in March). I'd submitted the eqip in mid-December.

I’ve done my fingerprints, but I have yet to hear about anything else. Not sure if that’s standard or if I should reach out. I was told to not expect to hear much of anything for a long time, so I don’t want to pester HR. Any advice?

I think this is totally normal. It varies widely depending on a lot of factors, like the case load of the agents they assign to your case. I'm the poster that's just completed my interview, and from what I understand it's kind of unusual for me to have this much of my investigation completed this early. I'm supposed to start in October, though I don't have an official start date yet. If it gets to be close to summer and you still haven't heard anything, I would reach out.

I'd just hang tight unless there's something logistical you absolutely must confirm (like to arrange housing or the like). It just takes a while. If you check in politely and in a non-demanding way, it won't be the end of the world, but the HR people are unlikely to have any information to give you, since they don't have any control over the background check, either, and are waiting on the same information that you are.

If we're assigned to a SAUSA post in EDVA as part of the Honors Program, do we have to move to Virginia for 6 months? Or is it commutable?

Probably from downtown DC. Planning on living near the office there if possible

Which office? Not clear who's posting you as a SAUSA.
