Here's the Defender Services Diversity Fellowship program's January update.

Have interviews gone out for this program yet?

I haven't gotten one if they have.

Anyone hear anything? The application confirmation email said interview invites would go out 3-4 weeks after the deadline closed which was over 4 weeks ago

Same. I've accepted an offer elsewhere now. Would've been a great opportunity, but oh well. I think they'll be missing out on a lot of great applicants.

Has anyone heard about BDS second rounds?

Yes, mine is scheduled for mid/late February. I scheduled it about two weeks ago.

Fyi for anyone lurking on here for BDS info - they're doing second rounds on a rolling basis. Got a second round later than this poster did. Not sure if they're still sending out invites but it's possible.

A little nervous about the turnaround time for interviews. The first time slots are tomorrow. At what point is it reasonable to reach out if we haven’t gotten an interview time assignment?

I got one yesterday and the time slots seem to indicate that interviews begin tomorrow. Has anyone who filled out the survey heard back about their interview time? I’m concerned I could wake up tomorrow to find out I only have a few hours before my interview.

To the people that received interview invites, how close to the deadline did you send your app in? I sent mine in on the last day and am hoping that maybe they'll reach out on/before their Friday deadline.

I imagine they are sending out the interviews in waves. Since they were delayed in sending out the invites generally, there is a chance that people have accepted other positions (or are no longer interested in the position). So they will keep sending invites, progressively, until they have a sufficient number set up.

Anyone have interviewers from jurisdictions that aren’t from one of the sponsoring offices? Had one and was kinda thrown off.

Out of curiosity, am I fucked for any PD offices if I do a Criminal Prosecution clinic? Debating which ones I want to do for 3L and Defense is way more competitive, but worried about if that would remove me from contention at any offices. I've heard the Colorado FPD is pretty hardass about cutting any candidates with anything prosecution-related on their resume; any others?

This would be a negative in most offices--almost all competitive offices I know of that do national hiring. Red flag in all true believer offices. If you can explain why you did it or how it turned you towards defense that would help. However, many office would rightly question why you chose to help cage people if you want to work for them and help them protect themselves from the state.
