Is that what that means? ATR (DC) just dropped off for me, not sure if that means anything positive or negative.

ATR CHI dropped off for me too! Super hopeful that this means I'm a finalist.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 5:16 pmIs that what that means? ATR (DC) just dropped off for me, not sure if that means anything positive or negative.
From a programming perspective it makes sense.
Say you applied to three components (A, B, C). Each component will have an attribute titled something like "app-status" or something. A, B, and C will have app-status = application recieved until interviews go out.
If you get selected for an interview for A & B, but not C, then app-status = selected for interview for those two, but app-status = application received for C. Since the system can only display one status at a time, A & B will drop off until the app-status is forced to display "selected for interview."
If out of A & B, you're only a finalist for A, then A will drop off until B either designates you a finalist or decides not to. The key thing that makes this work is because we can only go up in status, not down (received -> interview -> finalist). Because of that, the dropped off status has to be a upgrade to finalist.
This is just my crude attempt at generating hopium for myself lol. Anyone who actually knows what's going on should chime in!

I don't think it's crude at all - we're all talking about the same division (ATR) - I'm almost certain this is good news, but let's just see. So far it looks like other components are being slower, hard to tell where else there might be decisions soon...Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 5:28 pmATR CHI dropped off for me too! So this means that those with only one component would not see a drop-off, right?774361 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 5:34 pmI don't think it's crude at all - we're all talking about the same division (ATR) - I'm almost certain this is good news, but let's just see. I’m not an ATR applicant, but Thursday was a holiday and I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people took Friday off, so things moving slowly this week checks out.I don't think it's crude at all - we're all talking about the same division (ATR) - I'm almost certain this is good news, but let's just see. It's unclear on that point. Past threads seemed to suggest that it might drop off for people with one component too, but it might just be anons who didn't share all their interviews.funkymonk123 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 5:59 pmSo this means that those with only one component would not see a drop-off, right?774361 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 5:34 pmI don't think it's crude at all - we're all talking about the same division (ATR) - I'm almost certain this is good news, but let's just see. If the Avue software is REALLY janky (which, I mean, it's the federal government, so it might be), there might be an automatic update to the app-status attribute but then Deanna or whoever in OARM might have to manually update the display for finalists. If that's the case, then even people with only one component might see it drop.
I can't confirm any of this without the source code though, so who really knows lol.

A few components released finalists, including ATR. Can anyone verify the "disappearing component" theory above?

Can confirm that my disappearing component just turned into a finalist designation for ATR CHI. Now to begin stressing about if I'm an alternate or an offer candidate lol.

Same here - ATR DC disappeared a day or two ago, and now it's back and I'm a finalist for it. The others have disappeared. I know some Civil division components are still calling references, but no idea what their timeline is...Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 11:56 am(Please don't de-anon this)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 11:36 amA few components released finalists, including ATR. I don't think so - Deana seems to be updating the forum within avue for things that get new designations...

Did anyone hear from ATR-SF? The post says that "first round" of finalists are out for all cities, does that insinuate that all cities have at least enough finalists to fill their positions?

Same, DC antitrust had previously vanished and I am now a finalist. Any clue on when we find out offers vs alternate? This feels like such an unnecessarily stressful step774361 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 12:06 pmSame here - ATR DC disappeared a day or two ago, and now it's back and I'm a finalist for it. No idea, but I'm guessing within a few days. I had an interview for ATR-DC and had my references checked, but am still under "selected for interview." Does that mean I am totally out of the running or is it possible for there to be more rounds of finalists?

Has anyone gotten an offer yet from ATR? Curious how the timing works with finalist designations and the actual extending of offers.774361 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 5:33 pmNo idea, but I'm guessing within a few days. Wondering the same. I felt pretty good after the interview but obviously the process is super competitive. Either way, congrats to those who received finalist designations!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 3:34 pmI had an interview for ATR-DC and had my references checked, but am still under "selected for interview."
