I threw a couple of apps, but I don’t expect much. I work at the DOJ doing civil lit, but I don’t have securities experience.

depends on the office -- not all value securities stuff as much as others (although NY/DC will definitely)

office you heard from (unless you don't want to out)?

how long from closing of application period until you heard back?

was it the first thing you've heard since?

I was asked for more documents on Friday. No prior securities experience. Applied last month for a DC opening.

It was a position with the DC office. I think it closed around Memorial Day. It was the first thing I have heard. I definitely have my fingers crossed.

also, how did you guys hear back re: more docs? i want to know if i should be more depressed about not getting any phone calls or not getting any emails.

I didn’t get a request form the SEC, and don’t expect to get one, but in my experience agencies usually send an email requesting additional documents. I had one not too long ago request a writing sample and performance evaluations before extending an interview invitation. The interview invite came pretty quickly after receiving the document request.

I didn’t apply but I have heard at least one office with positions is interviewing now. It was a secondary office on the east coast.
