BXD--In the last two weeks, I've done a 2nd interview with CO. I have NH, LAS, and Palm Beach (2nd round) beginning next week through the 20th.

I'm the above poster, I'm sure she just meant first round. No worries.Anonymous User wrote:Got BXD reject in email today. I applied to them every summer and for an externship and never got an interview. I really hope the above poster meant the last of the 1st round interviews. I only had mine 2 weeks ago and would be really bummed if there are no more Tina interviews happening.

I haven't heard back from CO, palm beach, or NH since EJW.

Anyone apply to any of the Seattle area PDs? It looks like they kinda have the same set up as NYC with the multiple non-profits taking on work (but I read an article that they may be changing it). Most of their sites basically say they aren't recruiting but maybe its worth throwing a resume their way for kicks?

Does anyone know when Miami is doing their final round interviews?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Miami has already scheduled second round interview, both for this week and for a week in January. I suppose it may be possible that they end up not getting enough acceptances and have to interview more, but I don't think that's their plan.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone know when Miami is doing their final round interviews?

They are interviewing 3Ls at PILC so I don't think all hope is lost. Or at least thats what I'm hoping.Anonymous User wrote:Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Miami has already scheduled second round interview, both for this week and for a week in January. Does anybody know about the CPCS hiring process? I applied back in September and now my status is finally under review. However, they sent me another link requiring me to fill out a ton of information, essays, and have 3 supervisors send in LORS.

I posted the above quote. Apparently a lot of post-bar programs that are normally paid will not be paid this year (like San Francisco). I really want to be in CA, but I have no savings. There's no way I could work for free until December unless one of the offices in commuting distance of my parents' home wants me.Anonymous User wrote:Is anyone applying to post-bar clerkships in CA? And specifically, is anyone interviewing for the San Diego post-bar clerkship? Wondering if any non-local applicants have done a second round yet. I did my first round mid-Oct, I believe, and haven't heard anything yet.

I had the same - I sent in the information but haven't followed up on having the LORS sent yet because it was right around Thanksgiving. Thanks for reminding me to get on that. Also, I didn't realize there was a status to check and I'm also under review.Anonymous User wrote:Does anybody know about the CPCS hiring process? This is also the first time I've had a potential employer ask for the LORs to be sent directly by the supervisor, but I guess that's just how they do it.

It can't mean end of Tina interviews because my first round interviewer told me that the hiring committee didn't meet until December 9th againAnonymous User wrote:LAS--I'm not exactly sure. Their hiring process seems to be all over the place. But for some info, I had an interview with Tina and she told me they were maybe only 20-25 spots for next year, and maybe 125 people were making it to the "final round."Anonymous User wrote:It can't mean end of Tina interviews because my first round interviewer told me that the hiring committee didn't meet until December 9th againAnonymous User wrote:LAS--I'm not exactly sure. Anyone have any insider info on whether or not we're going to be pretty much looking at radio silence until January/February? I sort of figured that from Thanksgiving until like the PILC fair there would be no movement from most offices but if I've got this completely wrong that'd be good to know.

Did San Diego PD start interviewing for post-bar positions? To the person who "believes" he/she had a first round interview, can you explain?Anonymous User wrote:If you're referring to the San Diego one, I'm pretty sure it's hourly. I just can't find the amount posted anywhere. I assume somewhere around $15-$20/hr based on other post bar programs. For reference, Alameda pays $16.38/hr, and its PDs are paid $67k/year. San Diego PDs are paid $56-65k/year.Anonymous User wrote:I'm thinking about applying but IDK how much the stipend is. I am a current intern at San Diego PD's office, to my knowledge they haven't started interviews for fall post bars. They just finalized the spring class. However, it is possible they have done some Skype interviews with people out of state. Any one who has interned at their office bypasses the first round interview.Anonymous User wrote:Did San Diego PD start interviewing for post-bar positions? Thank you for this info! Do you know how many post-bars SD is looking for? Also, do you have any insight into what the interview for post-bar positions is like?

No problem. I'm not sure how many they are looking for this year, they usually hire 15-20. In past years, 3/4 of the clerks were current/past interns and the rest were out of state students. I have heard that they have reserved a certain number of slots specifically for out of state law students for this round.
Three rounds of interviews: first round: not certain because interns bypass, probably general screener, second round: come of up with defense and litigation strategy for a case, third round: you basically have it (tell us about yourself)

Thank you again! Sorry to keep asking Qs, but do you know how successful post bars are in obtaining attorney positions in SD? 15-20 post bars is quite a lot for SD.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
