I would also, love any insight on these last two posts. Trying to keep a level head about this entire thing, but some doubt is starting to creep in.
It's actually pretty crazy over here due to COVID-19. Although the training is continuing, it is nothing like how it was conducted in the past. The 211th is staying at Benning at the moment conducting virtual JAOBC right now after graduating DCC. As far as DOD stop order, JAG is working with DOD with an ETP. Everything is scheduled a year out, so I am pretty sure that they will figure something out with August 2020 DCC class, even if Covid pandemic still is going on during that time frame.

DCC was literally the only company training on post - I guess JAGs are "essential."
So sorry to the 211th! Benning sucks. I am not sure how much COVID impacted what training you guys actually were able to do. I know for us it was pretty shit. They made it worse for us because the 209th were jerks lol. Charlottesville is so nice and I am sorry ya'll won't get that experience! Stay strong.

Love from the 210th

Current new AF JAG here at my first assignment. Does anyone know how a second assignment works if you were to get out after 4 years? Does JAX work like the rest of the AF in terms of being able to turn down an assignment if you're within 2 years of an ADSC end date? (Assuming the PCS would be at the 2.5 year mark) Whereby accepting it would incur 2 more years, putting you at a 4.5-5 year obligation. Or would it be if you are at your first assignment for almost 3 years you would just do one year+ at the second assignment and get out? Thank you!

My understanding is if you accept a PCS, you will incur 2 years of service from the date of the PCS. So if you PCS at the 2.5 year mark, you will owe 4.5 years total.

A PCA, on the other hand, shouldn't have that requirement. So if you did 2.5 years in a base legal office and then slid over to the ADC or SVC position on the same base for your second assignment, you could still get out right at 4 years.

Even if you turned down a PCS at the 2.5 year mark, I believe they could still make you move, but you wouldn't incur a further service obligation. My friends haven't had much experience with outright turning down their second assignment, so perhaps others can be more helpful there.

Congrats!! I’m on my third attempt too. Doubt it’s gonna happen. What do you think was the difference between this time and the last times?

If I'm honest with myself, I think the first two times I was (unintentionally) a bit cavalier. This time I kept the emphasis on my desire to serve no matter when selected or where stationed. I can say that if I had not been selected (again) this round, I would have made a fourth attempt in September -- showing a persistent, calm readiness and willingness. I am wishing you very good luck: it was certainly not easy waiting!

Congratulations. Glad to see calls are going out today. Means I only have 6 more hours to worry about before I finally know the results of this.

Congrats to all who got it. Looks like going back in the military just isn't in the cards for me.

Just got the call. Second try (first was as a 1L), this forum has been incredibly helpful over the last three years.

Do the calls generally happen all on the same day?

Anyone familiar with whether all calls will go out today for AF DAP, or if the calls have gone out over a span of a couple days in the past?

Looks like another "unfortunately, you were not selected this round" for me. That makes more than two years of declined applications. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. When I externed, my SJA and all the captains said my application was a slam dunk (though I suppose they might have just been being nice). I guess that's about it for me.

Have you taken the recruiting office up on their annual offer to review your application for you and provide some individualized feedback?

There are posts in the past that calls have gone out Tuesday or Wednesday, but the general courtesy for boards is to call same-day.

It depends on your SJA. The SJA you interviewed with calls you with the good news. He/she could be off today or very busy with real world stuff. It’s possible for calls to go out multiple days.

Hi all. I was curious if anyone had any recommendations for women's boots for DCC? I wouldn't be against buying a pair of men's boots.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
