Apologies to Patrick and others, but I really hope we're notified for Air Force today. Any much longer, and we'll be at a disadvantage for the Dec board, assuming we're not selected this round. Seems slightly premature to request my recommenders for their letters again without knowing the results, but at the same time, I want to give them enough time.

As I understand it, you can resubmit the same letters for the December board. No need to have new ones for the December board, unless you want to I guess.

For those who applied to the Air Force Oct board, is your application portal now open to apply for Dec? Mine is so I'm wondering if it's a sign that I wasn't selected. Good luck to everyone else.

The AF JAG Recruiting page posted at the beginning of October that it would open up on October 30th for those of us that applied for the October board. Wouldn't sweat it too much.

I assume everyone got the email stating results wouldn't release until after November 10. Sooo...at least we can relax until then.

Does anyone have applications in to muiltiple branches? I'm wondering what the timeframe is for acceptance once selectees are notified. Essentially if waiting to hear from another branch is acceptable or do they want a firm commitment right away?

Okay so I am new to this thread. Just started to think about this as a career path initially.

Few questions:

If I am a 2l with a big law summer associate position lined up and committed to, does this preclude me from trying during 3l?

Also, is there a good resource to start learning about what actually JAGs do especially as young officers?

The Army asks you to send back a letter of intent by a certain date, I believe it was a few weeks last year. Air Force did not have any set form or anything. From my experience they just assumed you were going forth unless you informed them otherwise. But for both of those branches you do not actually commit for months, so you could hypothetically back say no to one and go forth the other.

I'm not sure why it would be. It certainly doesn't on the military end, but the terms of your offer could limit you if it somehow legally bound you to return to the firm after graduation (but even then you could still do the reserves).

Search this thread. The Navy posts a ton of interviews with junior JAGs you might want to browse through. Most recruiting websites will give you a rough overview.

Wouldn't give up hope just yet. My interviewer called at like 6 pm and said he just saw it 5 minutes before heading home for the night. Guessing a lot of people won't know until they come in and check email this morning

I feel your frustration. This would be my 4th ding. You should call or email them for feedback. They provide some of the board's notes on your application.
