There are numerous local hotels:Anonymous User wrote:For people who have already interviewed - a. Any tips for a hotel nearby? I'm coming in from across the country for a morning interview so I'm flying in the night before. and b. what is parking like at the PTO? Thanks!

You can plug in to and from addresses in the website for the Washington metro (and buses) to judge the distance from any hotel to the PTO. http://www.wmata.com.
Don’t rent a car for the interview. Many hotels are close to the PTO. You can cab it there, and walk back afterwards. The PTO / Old Town area is extremely nice and well worth walking around. Old Town (King Street metro) is just two metro stops from National airport (Reagan National Airport metro). There is a cab stand at King Street metro.

Anybody know how many they are hiring in this round? Will there be two classes like last year?

Same here. I don't expect to be invited at this point.Anonymous User wrote:I wrote my personal statement in a legal memo format. However I did not include a cover letter.
I have not been invited for an interview, but also haven't received a rejection.

Cover letter? Why would you provide a cover letter with your statement? Seems superfluous.Anonymous User wrote:I wrote my personal statement in a legal memo format. However I did not include a cover letter.

Just got my official "referred but not selected" email.
Re: cover letter - in the job announcement i believe providing a cover letter was "strongly suggested" or something to that effect.
The next time they announce a round of hiring I plan on providing a cover letter and tightening up the KSA.
Hope they post an account enemy in February or March.

Anyone interview yet? Any tips or suggestions for the interview?
Last time it was 700/100/20 (applicants, interviews, spots), any idea of the numbers this time around?

It sounded like they're repeating the hiring pattern from last year. First 20 to existing sections, next 20 to create a new section.

Did they tell you that at the interview? I was told they are only hiring 20 "fill ins" for existing sections, and that they are not creating a new section. Also, apparently there were much fewer applicants this round than last year.

I was told fill-ins would start sometime in February and a new class would start in May.

Yeah, I heard the same thing, only like 500 applications/ 120 interviews/ 40 spots.
What was your interview like?

Was anyone else asked to submit a written statement by December 9th? If so, have you heard back yet?

Hello,
Anyone who currently works in this position know what the office situation is for new examining attorneys? Own office, shared office, cubicles?
Thank you.

Anybody know when interviews are over and when offers will be given? Also, does anybody know the approximate start dates of the March and the May classes?

My email said interviews continue through the middle of January.
I was under the impression that the March jobs start early. My guess is first week of March.

I got an invite to interview on Dec 16. Email said that PTO would be hosting interviews between Tuesday, December 1, 2015 - Friday, January 15, 2016 from 9 am to 4 pm. Told me to expect to be there for around 3 hours.

Has anyone heard back since their interview? Anyone received an offer or asked permission to contact their references?

Did the interviews really take 3 hours? If so, was that time split among different group leads? Did each group ask the same questions?Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone heard back since their interview? Anyone received an offer or asked permission to contact their references?
