I do not believe so. Deanna will post on the community board when a component has met their hiring goals and she has not put anything up for EOIR. Also, based on previous posts, EOIR takes the longest. If you are waiting on OCIJ, Deanna has posted in the past that it is not unusual to receive offers as late as February/March.

Is it safe to assume I’m an alternate if I haven’t heard anything yet? (Non-EOIR component)

Anyone else applying for this new Vermont USAO gig? Any idea on when we can expect to hear from them? I’m wondering how soon I need to be refocusing my job search

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
Accepted an offer from Tax (Civil) on Wednesday 12/1. Follow up email came on Thursday 12/2 and initial e-QIP registration email came today 12/3.
I was never designated as a finalist for Tax Civ, but was issued an offer. I point this out because although most components follow the standard finalist designation procedure, it is clear from my experience, that some do not.
So, for those of you still holding out for an offer, if you have not yet received a regrets message, do not give up all hope!

Given that the initial 2-week acceptance response period for the first round of finalists has passed at this point, I'm assuming that it's safe to assume the remaining Finalists have not been selected. Has anyone heard any news this week?

I was a first round for two EOIR components and given until 12/14 to reply, so it's still not too late to hear if you're an alternative I think!

Any updates on clearances/suitability review for anyone? Submitted e-QIP a few weeks back and been radio silence since then.

I know someone who got an offer last year at the component I’m interested in, and I was told they were given more than two weeks to accept or deny the offer… I’m trying to stay hopeful !!!!!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 3:00 pmGiven that the initial 2-week acceptance response period for the first round of finalists has passed at this point, I'm assuming that it's safe to assume the remaining Finalists have not been selected. No, I followed up with HR relatively recently to make sure there was no issue with my initial forms and they said everything was fine. They didn't say when e-qip would come. If I recall correctly from past threads, I think formal offer comes after you are cleared, maybe even after you are assigned to a section? Sorry I am too lazy to check.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 10:46 amhas anyone in crim div received their formal offers or gotten the e-qip notification yet?

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
I am confused about the pay scale for entering HP attorneys.
I began a job in October and was originally told that I would enter as a G-12 owing to my one year of legal employment.
However I now received an email notifying me that I would in fact enter as a G-11 because, with a September 2022 start date, I will not have completed one year of post graduate employment.
Is this really how it works? I miss a full year of employment by literally two weeks. So anyone whose HP start date falls before their previous employment’s state date, even hypothetically by a day, would not receive credit for (nearly) one year of employment?
So many legal jobs start in late September or October. It seems many will be short changed by this policy (15k per year difference). I guess I just can’t believe they would be this strict and exact about what counts as a year.

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
That really is unfortunate timing. I feel for you. It seems that this is DOJ’s actual policy. I’m in a clerkship, and I asked HR if I had to stay the full year to receive the GS bump and they told me yes. Is it an option to ask if you can push your start date at DOJ until October?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:52 pmI am confused about the pay scale for entering HP attorneys.

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
I know someone who started at OCIJ after a year of experience clerking and they had to essentially haggle back and forth with HR to get their offer amended to reflect the appropriate GS and they did this before accepting the offer. I also know someone in DOL Honors who did not argue after clerking, too, and regretted not fighting for it, because it affects your promotion schedule for the rest of your tenure in government (and he heard others did get it who advocated for themselves).Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 6:52 pmI am confused about the pay scale for entering HP attorneys.

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
Welcome to how the federal government handles things. Unfortunately yes, to my understanding, this is how it works. They’re this strict and exact because the idea is to apply the rules the same way to everyone. It may seem nonsensical, but it’s intended to be easily administered (the federal government has a LOT of employees) and fair.
Now based on the post above mine, it’s probably worth advocating for yourself - unlike that poster I haven’t heard of that happening, but I didn’t enter a component with lots of other honors attorneys to talk to about such things. The other option is, if it’s only 2 weeks, push back your start date? They were really flexible about that with me (though again, since I wasn’t going into a program with lots of honors attorneys, it might be tougher if there’s any kind of structured on-boarding in place).

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
Anyone know what the rates for full-time conversion or exit opportunities are like for the two-year clerkships? Particularly with the administrative offices of EOIR (aka not OCIJ/BIA)?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
