Literally just got a phone call from HUD receiving an offer for their 2022-2023 Legal Honors Program! I interviewed on Wednesday, December 15th. Good luck to everyone!

I don’t think any offers will be made until January, so I would just sit tight if I were you. The DOL is notoriously slow. But you can always inquire about the timeline with your interviewer if it’s driving you nuts

Can anyone who knows provide insight on the work life balance (specifically average weekly hours) of the honors programs positions in DC? I’m really curious about the criminal positions, but anything comparable might be insightful.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard anything from the two agencies I interviewed with in October, though I really thought my interviews went well. My references haven't been called either. I'm getting antsy and want to reach out but don't know if that's a good idea?

It's weird that there has only been one report of a non-DOJ offer here, right? Is every agency just really behind this cycle? I know multiple people, myself included, who had 1-2 rounds of interviews and then heard nothing. Feels pretty weird.

Maybe the people who got offers just aren't on here?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:37 pmIt's weird that there has only been one report of a non-DOJ offer here, right? As far as an update for someone without an offer, I recently got my rejection email after second rounds for FDIC (12/1--they only had one interview round total), DHS (12/23), and DOT (12/30). Did first round for NSA what feels like forever ago and never heard back from them after that. I haven't heard a peep from CFPB, FCC, FTC, or SEC about a first-round interview. But I also haven't seen any movement on here about them so maybe they barely interviewed anyone.. SEC just opened apps a few weeks ago though.

Which office did you receive an offer from? I still haven’t heard anything back yet. I applied to the DOL honors program (when it reopened the application and it was due November 12) and have an interview this later this week. Any tips/recommendations?

I know someone who received (and accepted) a DOL offer for a regional position.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:37 pmIt's weird that there has only been one report of a non-DOJ offer here, right? How about with the National Office? I haven't heard anything from them either way nor have I heard of anyone else hearing from themAnonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 1:20 amI know someone who received (and accepted) a DOL offer for a regional position.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 7:37 pmIt's weird that there has only been one report of a non-DOJ offer here, right? Hard to say since most of us are applying and don't have experience yet. But probably 50 hours/week. Not biglaw but no attorney works a 9-5.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 11:12 pmCan anyone who knows provide insight on the work life balance (specifically average weekly hours) of the honors programs positions in DC? Re: NLRB - I bit the bullet last week and emailed the region to which I applied and was told that they usually do not get to reviewing application packets until mid-to-late January. So, at least we have a time point to look forwards to. Just wanted to let those concerned know that they're just really backed up.

Anyone else apply to FINRA Honors? I have an interview next week and can't find anything online about the interview process etc. From what I understand the program is only in its second cycle but I have not verified this.

Thanks for the update! I had crossed it off the list. It's hard to know whether to keep applying when you already have like 15 applications outstanding, but I guess it's better to just keep applying.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 6:54 pmRe: NLRB - I bit the bullet last week and emailed the region to which I applied and was told that they usually do not get to reviewing application packets until mid-to-late January. Does anyone have any information on whether HUD has finished issuing offers? They told me I would hear back by the end of December but I haven't heard anything (good or bad). I'm wondering if at this point I should assume I was not selected.

They emailed me last week and said I was missing a document. I don't know what it could possibly be, but that was an annoying end to an application.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 6:54 pmRe: NLRB - I bit the bullet last week and emailed the region to which I applied and was told that they usually do not get to reviewing application packets until mid-to-late January. Re: Honors Attorney Program 2021-2022 (non-DOJ)
Could be because you didn’t put hours on your resume indicating part time or full time (it’s a resume req for most fedgov). Another agency told me the same thing and then I realized I did submit a resume it just didn’t list my hours. So I resubmittedAnonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:41 pmThey emailed me last week and said I was missing a document. Has anyone heard anything from the SEC or CFPB? I know the SEC is still accepting applications so they might not have started extending interviews yet, but CFPB was due a long time ago. USAjobs still says "Referred".. But then again FDIC says something similar and I was notified I was out of the running there over a month ago.
