So it's safe to assume at this point any chances for this cycle are over?

Did anyone apply for the Law Clerk position and get a callback for an interview? I haven't seen much info on this thread about it.
I think candidates for the Law Clerk and Attorney Advisor roles were being interviewed simultaneously. I only assume this because when I entered the virtual "waiting room"" for my interview as an Attorney Advisor, the screen said something like "Trademark Law Clerks and Attorney Advisor Interviews."
Do you mind sharing what day your interview was?

Were you also told to expect to hear back in "early March"? I'm really hoping they might start making calls toward the end of next week...but the interviewer also told me they would need "about a week after interviews are concluded to interface with HR" so perhaps the following week (Week of March 6) would be more realistic...

I was told early March as well. I feel like the week of the 6th is the best bet. My anxiety is so high right now. Do you know how soon they notify people who aren't selected?

They do not notify those who are not selected (whether they interviewed or not) until pretty much the day the position starts / bodies are in the proverbial desks, which is often the same day the job is posted for the next cycle, and we get to start this hellish cycle all over again. There must be a better way to start addressing the backlog and hire the most qualified people, but this is the government. And on further reflection, given this agency's preference for the young and inexperienced, they are in actual fact statistically hiring those with the lowest KSAs.

I'm quite anxious as well. My understanding regarding notification of people who aren't selected is that they basically do not notify you.

As a may 2022 grad I'm genuinely confused by this hiring process. 0 communication, vague standards, and a long timeline don't exactly make this process enjoyable. Didn't receive an interview this time, guess I'm waiting for the next cycle to try again. Congrats to those that interviewed and will get offers!

Welcome to the gov't/USPTO, where the only consistency is inconsistency. Now they can waste six months repeating this process after throwing away hundreds of qualified attorneys.

To those of you that were referred, did you have to answer 3 or 5 questions for the written statement?

For those who interviewed, HR will contact you before contacting references correct? I'm hoping those calls may go out this week...

They will. From what I was told by a current TEA is that they give soft offers first, then call you references. Which seems odd to me, but okay. Lol

Thanks for the response. That's what I gather from reading prior responses as well, do you have any sense of the timeline between the soft offer / "can we check references?" phone call and the formal offer?

Weird Question: But did anybody send emails or notes to thank their interviewers?

I wasn't really able to catch their full names...so I assume it wasn't a big deal...

Not necessary. I've successfully been hired for multiple federal positions without ever doing so. I'm more concerned that my interview didn't go well. I guess we'll find out soon.

During my interview, one of the panelist said “we will be interviewing up until the end of March.” After seeing all the responses above, I must have misheard this. I was extremely nervous so likely she said “up until the end of February.” I just wanted to see if anyone else heard “up until the end of March.” Or else, it must have been my nerves.

For those of you who got selected for an interview, I’m curious how you answered the written responses in order to get selected. I have trademark experience but still wasn’t selected for an interview. Maybe next time I shouldn’t emphasize my trademark experience…

End of February. They will send offers in "early March" and the job starts April 24th.
