Re: Honors Attorney Program 2019-2020 (non-DOJ)
My first choice was the New York regional office, and they have to be in complete chaos with everything going on there. Trying not to let the wait reduce my confidence. HUD is likely going to need a lot of new hires once things start to settle given the housing crisis COVID is causing throughout the country.

Hey folks, I talked to my career services office and they delivered some intel.
They said HUD hasn't started interviews yet. But, HUD is finished reviewing applications. Told maybe to expect: (1) something in the next two weeks, and (2) some phases for the interview process.
I hope this helps, everyone!

Congrats! That’s amazing. I wonder if only certain offices selected people to interview or whether all of them have. If it’s that latter than this is disappointing.5280throwaway wrote:Got the call today to interview with an office!!

Just got an email invitation to interview, but it's surprisingly with my third choice office. Not complaining though. Still thrilled. Looks like offices are reaching out on different dates for anyone concerned.

I had my interview with the IRS yesterday. Anyone know how many interviews they normally do and how many positions are getting filled this year?

Has anyone received an interview offer from HUD's DC office?

Are people receiving interviews from multiple offices? I got an interview from Atlanta. But have not heard back from other offices.

I was wondering the same thing. I just heard from one regional office, but my preference was for DC.Anonymous User wrote:Are people receiving interviews from multiple offices? I got an interview from Atlanta. But have not heard back from other offices.

Anyone hear from the Fort Worth office? I’m assuming if I didn’t get a call by now it’s pretty much over.

I interviewed yesterday with lawyers from my 3rd ranked region. When I set up my interview I asked about interviewing for that region and the lady explained that we are not interviewing with that specific region, we are interviewing for the program as a whole, each region just helps with the interview process. So if we get recommended from this interview we may still get the region we want. Does that make sense?

Yes, that's correct. However, the office I was interviewing with didn't seem to know that. I had to actually explain HUD's process to them, which seemed unusual. But, I do know that where you interview does not mean that you are going to be placed there. D.C. Headquarters makes those decisions.Anonymous User wrote:I interviewed yesterday with lawyers from my 3rd ranked region. What did you guys hear about the hiring timeline? I was told it's still going to take a month before we hear back regarding offers post-interview. Did any of you hear that or something different during your interviews?Anonymous User wrote:Congrats all!Anonymous User wrote:Yes, received a call Thursday the 23rd.Anonymous User wrote:damian9472 wrote:Just got an email invitation to interview, but it's surprisingly with my third choice office. I also heard it would take about a month...finishing up interviews, checking references, and sending those people to the higher ups to review. I was told late May we should hear something.Anonymous User wrote:What did you guys hear about the hiring timeline? Wow, late May! That's a long time. Has anyone had their references checked yet?

How did you guys "rank" your preferences? When I applied on USAJobs, the system only asked me to list three places I would be open to. But, I couldn't order them in terms of priority. Did I miss something?Anonymous User wrote:I interviewed yesterday with lawyers from my 3rd ranked region. My references were checked today. I'm nervous though; they called from the regional office I interviewed with and that is not where I'd like to go. I hope that is not a sign.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
