During one of my interviews, the interviewers mentioned they were aware I was interviewing with another branch within the division. But the other branch asked me directly if I had any other interviews so it seems they have access but maybe all interviewers don’t check beforehand. The first interviewer told me they did not confer with the other branch before giving offers, but that some branches do. Not sure if this is helpful but it’s all the info I have!Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 12:59 pmDo they have access to which other offices or components we are interviewing for?

I had my references checked for ATR DC last Friday (11/5). ATR NY reached out today to my references, CRM and Tax Crim were the day after and the day of my interviews.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 4:58 pmhas anyone who interviewed with ATR DC *not* had their references checked shortly thereafter? Just trying to gauge whether it's a positive sign (not that reading tea leaves like this is at all productive)

It seems like they don't know who else you're interviewing with based on the conversations they had with my references, but they can see how you ranked them in your application.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 12:59 pmDo they have access to which other offices or components we are interviewing for?

I got asked point-blank if I had other DOJ Honors interviews during both of my interviews (with different divisions), so they may not.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 12:59 pmDo they have access to which other offices or components we are interviewing for?

Did you also apply to Fed Programs, and if so, were your references checked?

How relevant are our essays in the hiring process? Are they used only for interview selection? When I had my interview, my interviewers mentioned having read my resume and writing sample but did not mention my essay.

The people who select you for an interview are the same people who conduct the hiring process. They may not be interested in talking to you about your essays but they’re going to have seen them and so they’re going to be part of evaluation process. Though I’m sure different people value different things etc.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 4:00 pmHow relevant are our essays in the hiring process? Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
Thank you! I was just curious because my interviewers specifically mentioned having read my resume and writing sample, but not my essay. But I guess it makes sense since the implication is that they read my writing sample when they selected me for an interview, and they were letting me know that they had read my other materials that were submitted since then. None of those were brought up in the end anyways, since my interview was just an endless chain of behavioral and situational questions.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Nov 10, 2021 4:37 pmThe people who select you for an interview are the same people who conduct the hiring process. Assuming that if our references were not checked yet for Crim Trial that means I am out of the running, since it seems that others already had their references checked

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2021-2022
One of my components disappeared (status still "Selected for Interview") - I'm pretty sure that in the next few days that disappeared component will return, my status will become finalist and the others will drop off?
