I know when I went through this, I got the finalist designation before Thanksgiving (can’t remember exactly how long before), and got the offer the week after Thanksgiving.

Mind saying where you accepted? Maybe I can get the USAO I interviewed with to move a little faster...Anonymous User wrote:I know when I went through this, I got the finalist designation before Thanksgiving (can’t remember exactly how long before), and got the offer the week after Thanksgiving.

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2019-2020
From Deana:
Greetings, all:
Finalists have been posted for the components/offices listed below. Please note that the deadline for formal participants to identify finalists is not until the end of the week. Typically, we allow about two weeks for components to review their lists for accuracy and completeness prior to sending any "regrets" messages. Be advised that informally participating components are not required to comply with the regular timeline, and may make decisions later.
1. DEA-Office of General Counsel
2. USAO - Central District of California
3. USAO - Southern District of California (incomplete)
4. Indian Country Fellowship
Last but not least, some hiring offices have identified some, but not all of their finalists, with additional designations pending. I anticipate more clarity by the end of the week and hope to be able to post a more comprehensive update on Monday.
I will continue to post updates when a hiring office/component informs me that selections are complete.

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2019-2020
When Deana posts say that finalist have been “posted,” what does she exactly mean? Is there a list of finalists that are displayed for everyone to see? If does she mean those that are posted means that they are done with selection? Please advise if anyone knows. Thanks.

If you’re a finalist, it will say so on the Application Status page. Instead of “selected for interview” it will read “finalist” and the component code(s) will be only the ones where you are a finalist at that time.Anonymous User wrote:When Deana posts say that finalist have been “posted,” what does she exactly mean? Re: DOJ Honors Program 2019-2020
I'm pretty sure all it means is that if you've been selected as a finalist your application status on avue changes from "selected for interview" to "finalist." I don't believe there is a list of finalists available to view anywhere. I think typically the component has identified most of its finalists by that point, but it may be possible that it will select additional finalists.Anonymous User wrote:When Deana posts say that finalist have been “posted,” what does she exactly mean? Re: DOJ Honors Program 2019-2020
Not necessarily. Finalists are both first-round offer candidates and alternates. So, if you are not a finalist, you won’t get an offer. But not all finalists will get offers.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:If you’re a finalist, it will say so on the Application Status page. No. Per Deana, "Designation as a finalist means that a candidate is under consideration for an offer, and includes primary (first-round) offer candidates and alternates."Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:If you’re a finalist, it will say so on the Application Status page. Is it normal to be a finalist and not have heard a thing?

I assume OCIJ will take a while to post finalist being that it has the most spots to fill? anyone interview with more than one component? How are you guys leveraging the response deadlines if one component offers you and another is still pending?

Wow, currently listed as a finalist for UST. No phone call or anything yet. Only shows one of the components.

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2019-2020
I got a phone call last night with the informal offer. I asked to wait until I heard back from another component. They were perfectly comfortable and gave me the 14 days for a final response.
