Either nobody received news today, or just the few of us posting in this forum didn't hear news. Do we know if/when rejected candidates receive notice? This has been a long process...

Re: Attorney Advisor (Trademark Examining Attorney) for USPTO
I received a call this afternoon from a senior attorney stating that I was being considered for a position in the March class and they wanted to contact my references. The senior attorney said that a formal offer would have to come from HR and would be dependent upon my references checking out and some paperwork. I checked with each of my references and they were all contacted by the same senior attorney later in the afternoon - standard reference check questions. There was no indication as to the time frame for when to expect a formal offer. I am really hoping that this works out. Good luck to the rest of you.

I received the same phone call today but for a slot in the May class. I'm under the impression that assuming your references check out an official offer letter will be soon to follow. Good luck everyone!Anonymous User wrote:I received a call this afternoon from a senior attorney stating that I was being considered for a position in the March class and they wanted to contact my references. Wow Congrats! That is so weird because I did not hear anything today, but I called to ask about the timeline and they said that no decisions had been made yet...so I was hoping that they were going to start making calls next week. But it looks like all of the calls were probably made today. I applied last year too...and went through two rounds of interviewing...and I did not get a rejection letter until the very end of February...so there is probably more waiting to come!

Ditto. Just asked for permission to check references, received the call very late in the afternoon so I imagine the offer process is just getting started.Anonymous User wrote:Ditto re: a call this afternoon for the May class.

Judging by past patterns, offers went out today, and others may be on some type of wait list if any slots open up. Still hoping over here.

One question which may help to determine whether they have sent all of the offers is who the "senior attorney" was that has been placing the calls. For those of you who received offers, was the senior attorney specific to a law office, or was it one of the overall senior attorneys that overlook the process? Thanks for your insights for those of us that haven't heard anything. And congratulations!

My call was from an attorney who would be overseeing the specific office I would potentially join. That is a great point that each office/attorney may have its own timeline.Anonymous User wrote:One question which may help to determine whether they have sent all of the offers is who the "senior attorney" was that has been placing the calls. Congrats to all, I'm guessing if people have already received offers for both the March and May classes, that probably means there were different offices involved. It might be worth calling and asking definitively if all offers went out.

Not on my end. I have to assume they were all made Friday. Can't think of a good reason why they'd spread them out.

Has anyone called to ask if all of the offers were definitely made on Friday to be sure?

They were pretty careful on the phone on Friday to say that the phone calls were not "offers" per say... They just wanted permission to talk to references.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone called to ask if all of the offers were definitely made on Friday to be sure?

Well right...so I guess I meant all the "reference check" calls. It sounds like once you get that call an official offer is soon to follow....Anonymous User wrote:They were pretty careful on the phone on Friday to say that the phone calls were not "offers" per say...
