Boutique v BigLaw

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jul 18, 2024 12:35 am

Looking to get into Appellate Lit after LS, currently choosing between 2L summer offers at a highly-regarded West Coast boutique and an apparently very prestigious V5 in NY with strong litigation department. I know I’ll need to clerk, and I’d like to do so on the east coast — would it hurt me to choose one or the other? Would future employers or judges distinguish between them?

If you have an offer at wachtell then go there. If it's Cravath you're talking about, then pick based on where you'd prefer to live. Boutiques are great learning opportunities for associates.
