WWYD? SullCrom NY vs. Sidley DC vs. A&P DC
Interested in litigation, white collar, antitrust, investigations, maybe something regulatory, etc. Could see myself working in government eventually, not really sure.

I think location is dispositive here (NY vs DC). Within DC, both Sidley and A&P have good reputations, but I think A&P has a slight edge.

Sidley DC has many band 1 practices and is considered an excellent firm (but obviously a step below covington and w&c)

I think the problem with Sidley DC compared against other elite DC options is that they're only outstanding for certain niches. For example, obviously appellate lit with CP as the head of the group. Then overall, the firm is good not great in the market - firms like PW, Gibson and Kirkland have much stronger overall litigation practices in the capital. So unless you have DC appellate credentials and some kind of connection to Sidley DC appellate, going to a more reputable firm overall would likely give you better and more well-rounded options.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 12:08 pmSidley DC has many band 1 practices and is considered an excellent firm (but obviously a step below covington and w&c)

I would pick on (1) location and (2) culture. Sidley and A&P are going to be very close. I liked the culture of both a lot when interviewing with them, while maybe giving a slight edge to Sidley. The people seemed happier and less hurried. A&P has an older DC rep but Sidley has the marquee appellate practice and is at least as strong of a firm.
