I obviously idol Ruth Bader Ginsburg but if that is not gender-neutral maybe we should go for an animal creature - like jaguar, huskey, etc.

Has anyone else already done PT#7? If so, did you find it particularly forgiving or pretty typical? I mean, I know the scale was forgiving, but the questions didn't seem very difficult.
I've spent the past nearly two months working through the LR and LG Bibles, and haven't done a PT since before starting the bibles. I jumped 15 points from that PT to PT#7 tonight...155 to 170...which is a score I'd be totally happy with for the real thing.
I almost can wait to do the next one...I feel like I need another PT to validate that this one was not a fluke!

PT 7 is different then a PT in the 50s. Do one of those and then if you get the same score you will know it's not a fluke.I almost can wait to do the next one...I feel like I need another PT to validate that this one was not a fluke!

Those bibles are amazing. I jumped up 8 points after finishing the LR Bible, and am now trying to finish the LG Bible, completely expecting another jump. I don't know whether a 170 was a fluke, but I am sure you made some kind of big gain. And you still have 2 more months, so keep at it.phila wrote:Has anyone else already done PT#7? By the end of this week I should be done with the LG bible, then I will start the LR bible and should finish by the middle of January, then take as many pt's I can before Feb 6. I am not really planning on reading the reading comp bible as I hear it pretty much states the obvious and RC is already my strongest section (-2 on diagnosis test). I feel as far as RC I just need to work on my speed.

I'm following this 5-month study plan (http://lsatblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/ls ... edule.html) plus a Testmasters course. Thus I'm keeping very minful of burnout.nashvillestar wrote:How's everyone preparing for the Feb LSAT? If you don't mind posting your study plan, please do so.
So far I've done PTs 26, 27, 39, 40, and the three SuperPrep tests (all timed). It's already been a wild ride but the real madness awaits me in January.

Looks like i am taking the february LSAT. I was supposed to take it this month but am in Korea and LSAC wouldn't send the test due to "safety of shipment". Anyway, I got through the LR and LG bible, they helped my score a lot. I didnt study RC at all so my score fluctuated from -14 to -5. I am going through the RC bible now. Any other tips to get a better score on the RC section.

Re: February 2010 LSAT - 126 days and counting.
My study plan:
I've already read LG & LR Bibles (I refer back to them on specific concepts I'm struggling with -- most recently the conditional reasoning section). Now I'm trying to go through at least 2 sections per day, throwing in a LG I've never seen or reviewing a game I did a few days ago.
My score isn't nearly where I want it to be. I'm routinely getting -3 to -7 on LR. My new emphasis on LG has improved my performance on that section, but I have a long way to go. Based on everything I've read, this is the most learnable section of the test and should be a gimme if a lot of hard work is put in. RC can be tough -- I really think this is the toughest section to improve. Lately I've focused on circling all names (of people), identifying transitions, very very briefly summarizing the topics of each paragraph, and just trying to read as actively as possible.
In terms of review, I try to never let myself off the hook. It does you no good to just say, "shit, I missed that one but I'll get it next time." You need to study the problem until you definitively know why that answer is correct and what faulty logic led you to the wrong answer. When you have a bad day or a slew of wrong answers, look at it as an opportunity to recognize your weaknesses and improve.
Anyway, I'm on PT 27 right now, and I'll be working my way up to the 50s over the next couple months. I'm looking forward to comparing notes on these PTs with you guys.

Remember my post last week wondering whether my first PT since reviewing the bibles was a fluke?
Yeah, it probably was.
My PT this week was a complete trainwreck...major timing issues on LG adn RC...major accuracy issues on LR. Ahhhhh!

Hey
Long-time reader, first time poster mostly posting in here to get some motivation and swap study techniques/ stories (because as im sure you've noticed non lsat takers don't seem to enjoy talking about logic games). Some background info:
Took a Kraplan course this summer (hey it was free)
Considered taking the Dec. test but decided against it
Currently working through the LR section of Kaplans Pacing Book and checking answers
Goodluck!

I just finished the games bible and after a 10 days of no PT's saw 5 pt jump. I'll try another one this afternoon to see if it wasn't a fluke test. My plan is to do 5 old PT's and one post-PT46. That way I slowing work in the new stuff with the old. I'll save the 53-58 for the last 2 weeks before the big day.

Way to go! Was your increase in score mostly due to an improvement in the games?jjleague wrote:I just finished the games bible and after a 10 days of no PT's saw 5 pt jump. Re: February 2010 LSAT - 50 days and counting.
As of this morning I am joining this thread too. Third times the charm???
September I did horrible on games (dinos) and nearly aced the rest of the test. Devoted time to game and took Spetember. Only missed 2 games points, and did horrible on LR, so even though I jumped 5 points to 168 I still didn't hit anywhere near my PT range (175+). My plan is to just review my materials, make sure I am dedicating time to all areas. I'm not going to go crazy on timed practice tests. Timing isn't my issue, and I have now done every single LSAT available (true story) so the scores would be less than accurate. Hopefully it will all come together this time. Good luck everyone!
