Logic Games: Kaplan vs. McGraw-Hill practice tests

Post by eddieg803 » Tue Feb 03, 2009 11:23 pm

Hey guys, this is my first post so bear with me a little. Just wondering if anyone else was noticing a big difference between the logic games in the Kaplan LSAT 2009 Comprehensive Program and the 2009 McGraw-Hill's LSAT. I've found the Kaplan logic games to be killer... Like as in I can rarely finish a complete game without running into difficulty. But with the McGraw-Hill book, they are almost all pretty easy for me. Maybe missing one or two a section at most.

Logic games will for sure be my make or break section.. We're talking like 165 vs. 175.. Those are the kinds of differences in scores I'm having between the Kaplan & McGraw-Hill tests. Anyone else finding the same thing? Obviously I need to get my hands on some of the actual old tests, but haven't had a chance to yet.

Luckily having little to no problems with LR and RC. I found both of those books to be a huge help with LR, and my RC skills have pretty much stayed the same-- about -2 or so per test.

Thanks for any insight.

Resurrecting this post because it's worth it...NO ONE should ever buy the McGraw Hill books., at least the Conquering Logic Games book. They are the worst I have ever seen! The authors themselves answer about 20% of the questions incorrectly (and claim they are correct, complete with flawed explanations). The company should withdraw the book from print immediately. I'm furious to have spent my money on it!

The difference is that all Kaplan questions are real LSAT questions. The M-H books (as I understand it) are not real questions.

I purchased a M-H book for LG and regret it. It is not worth the money and it is of NO VALUE for study. Stick with the more reputable names.
