So the flaw is that the authors reasons because there is no proof to support a statement (premise), that the statement in question is false (concludion).
I.e.
It is widely believed that sleeping less than 8 hours leads to higher rates of heart attacks. However, for years, scientists have conducted studies on this topic and have yet to publish a successful study. Therefore, it must be untrue that sleeping 5 hours leads to higher change of a heart attack.
The second sentence above is the premise that there is no proof or research. This can show up in a variety of ways. The last sentence above is the conclusion you are looking for (where because there is no proof, it must be that the underlying statement is false). The first sentence is the underlying statement.
