Reading Comprehension

Post by Dipsychus » Fri Oct 11, 2019 1:46 pm

Not a particularly helpful post, but:

I find RC to be absurdly easy: all the practice done, not a single incorrect answer and with time to spare. Whereas I miss several in LG because of the time crunch.

And, of course, there are people for whom the reverse is true. FWIW, I do think that LG is more “learnable” than the other sections. And I don’t think, FWIW also, that either kind of person/brain, more LG or more RC adept, is going to make a better or worse lawyer in real life. (I say this because people are positively vituperative about their opinions on this subject.)

Hublebrags aside, I agree that logic games is the most "learnable" section, and I would argue that reading comprehension is the least "learnable" section. People can (and should) improve with practice and study, but logic games is an area where you can see a lot of dramatic improvement early on. Back when I was studying for the LSAT, my recollection is that reading comprehension was more difficult to move the needle on.

Fun reading this after getting -10/-9 on the RC from 53/54. RC for me isnt difficult until the final passage which is almost always some 4/5 or 5/5 difficulty science passage that asks a bunch of questions pertaining to intent or authors opinion which are always harder to choose than the easier questions that are references to lines in the text. I'll always be -3/-4 points TOPS after the first 3 sections.
