Hey guys, I need your advice on something.
I just seriously started to study for the lsat about two to three weeks ago. I did a cold diagnostic a long time before that and got a 152. I just did a diagnostic today and got a 159. This is the same score that I got last year when I did a stimulated lsat through my school after studying for about a week. I am missing about 5-6 on the lR, 3-7 on the RC, 12-13 on the LG. The LG is what really concerns me because for the past two to three weeks I have almost read through the full lG bible. Is it possible for me to improve if I start studying for 6-8 hours a day? I plan to read through the rest of the Bibles, take at least 15 PTs in the next month, and use khan academy because they are what helped me make gains in the LG before the stimulated lsat. Is it at all possible to get 175+ since most of my improvement could be made in the LG section? I’m not really worried about the RC because I haven’t focused on that section yet and I tend to improve in those types of sections by taking more tests.
Sorry for the long post.
Is an improvement of 159 to 175+ possible in one month? Forum

Re: Is an improvement of 159 to 175+ possible in one month?
As a tutor who has worked with people with big goals and not a ton of time, I'll say that is a pretty ambitious goal. I don't want to tell you it is impossible but here's why it may be difficult:
Improving on the LSAT is much more like learning a skill than it is learning information. Progress isn't linear and you aren't building on your intuitive approach, you are learning a new one.
You do have a lot of room to grow on logic games and going from -12 to -0 on games is entirely possible for most students given time and the right approach.
The issue is that it takes time to learn that approach, more time to internalize it and practice it and yet more time to expose yourself to enough variety that you can adapt the approach on the fly no matter what they throw at you.
Depending on how you learn and how much time out of that month you have to study it may be possible to approach perfection in games, but most people have some hard limits on how long it takes to really internalize a new skill even with total immersion and focus.
Given the other numbers you quoted you would need to make at least some progress on the other sections to reliably hit 175+ and it can be an equivalent or longer process to approach perfection in those sections, especially since you have less room for improvement.
I definitely don't want to discourage you. A month of hard studying based on learning a good fundamental approach then applying it to a ton of games should help your score a lot, it just may take more work than your are anticipating to hit 175+.

Thank you for your advice. What I will do is continue with my regiment and if I hit 169-170 within the next two weeks I will do the test, if I don’t then I’ll move it up to November.Blueprint LSAT wrote:As a tutor who has worked with people with big goals and not a ton of time, I'll say that is a pretty ambitious goal.
