Long story short -- am junior with 172 LSAT, applying Fall 2018. Obviously want best chances for admission and I know a few more points would really lock me in and so I was thinking about retaking in June. Difficulties -- have taken almost every LSAT (except the September and December of this year), my average was about a 171 while practicing, I won't have an insane amount of time to prep next semester, and I haven't really looked at the exam since June (though I'm sure given a few weeks I could get back into it).
I know that schools take the highest score, but I feel like there must be a slight advantage that comes with getting a good score the first time. I am worried that there's a chance I'll score lower on my next exam. My heart's not really too into it either, but I also don't like the idea of leaving something on the table.
So, yeah. My question is -- worth retaking at 172? GPA is 4.0, below average/average softs (law firms over summers, scholarship funded by very well known law firm, good LoRs).

Impossible to know without knowing your career aspirations/dream schools.

Re: Retake 172?
I think you're going to get mostly yes's from people here. Just a one point increase gets you a whole lot more $ at the CCN level and almost locks you into one of H or S. Also depends on your goals / what schools you are looking at
