Happy to say I got apes and isotopes right.

Not a dunce but in comparison to this group yea..

That was the borderline score for me tbh. Idk, depends on GPA, goals, debt adversity, etc. It's certainly a good score, but like were you PT'ing much higher?

At 171/3.45/nonexistent softs, I plan on essentially blanketing schools ranked 5-18, but WUSTL's scholarship-friendliness is very appealing to me.

I'm also undergrad from a lower T13 where I'm a coinflip, anyone know how much that helps?
I'm sitting at a 3.95+ and 173, so I'll be blanketing the entire T-13 maybe not UVA or Penn, since I almost certainly wouldn't attend.
Same, but replace penn with columbia bc nyc can go to hell.

Chicago is my #1. Michigan #2. I would consider stanford but it's so far I would get homesick.
I'm long on the Midwest. All those climate refugees from Texas and SW will need to go somewhere. Real talk.
See this is a smart man. Chicago is on the rebound, or will be once they get that weasel out of the mayor's office.
Meanwhile 101 shootings took place in less than a week.... Luckily Uchi isn't on the southside, oh wait..
Hyde park is a fine neighborhood, I live in killwaukee, can't be that much worse.

Blougram wrote:So, the moral of this story is not to take the LSAT after studying for 5 days. Yeah, many of you guys told me to sit this one out, and you were right... But I figured I might as well take it since I wouldn't get a refund this late in the game. It didn't help that I was diagnosed with pneumonia the day before, but then again, I don't think not having pneumonia would have helped me that much with LG.

Well, it's time to start studying for real this time. I registered for September two weeks ago and have been practicing LG almost every day in the interim. I currently average -5, so I don't think 170 is beyond the realms of possibility for September.

Here's my breakdown:

RC: -4
LR1: -2
LR2: -1
LG: -11[sic!]
If it makes you feel better, I studied for six months and got a 155. Your raw score is higher than any of my PT raw scores, though I got a 166 on one due to a generous curve. Sorry for being sour grapes, but it makes me sick when I see these people ready to slit their wrists because they got a 172 instead of a 175. I'm just hoping to somehow get at least 160 in September. FML.

I'm so annoyed. I scored well on RC (No surprise). Decently on LG (usually my weakest section but the first 3 games were so easy I thought I was missing obvious). And HORRIBLY on both LR sections. I missed more in each section than on any practice tests. I did get apes and isotopes correct but sooo many others wrong.

I got a 168. PT average was ~164. Logic games is my worst section. Didn't get through all my prep materials.
Break down:
RC -3
LR1 -3
LG -3
LR2 -2

I am an extreme splitter with GPA below 3.0, but a very very strong grade trend in recent semesters, a very convincing reason for a GPA addendum, and decent softs. Help me please, thread!

Edit: GULC is my pie-in-the-sky dream school

How did you study for LR?

I got a 168 too but I had -9 in LR

Ok, I usually get -6ish RC, (it's pretty unsteady) and this time I got -9, ugh..... I'm definitely retaking in September bc my overall score was on the lower end of my range. Advice please on the best RC books? I don't want to study too much, just to improve and steady my RC, brush up on LR once or twice a week, and I already think I'm going to use 7sage videos to improve LG. So just best RC books reccommendations please!!! Thank you!

Harvard, Columbia, NYU, UVA, Michigan, Duke, Cornell, GULC, UT, Vandy. Some of the T13 is conspicuously missing but those I wouldn't seriously consider and/or don't think would be helpful for negotiating with my main targets. Will think about throwing Emory/UF in as super safeties but with today's score I think Cornell/GULC/UT/Vandy will be sufficient safeties. Really wasn't planning on scoring this high.

I actually found 7sage to be pretty decent for RC, and watching JY go through a passage + questions really got me to read in an active voice all the time. Other than that, blind review made a big difference in bringing RC from my least consistent to almost always -1/-2. While I never got -0 like I did in LR and LG it turned out to be my best section on the real thing, which really saved my ass when I dropped 2 easy points on LG.

What is your GPA? We share an LSAT score but I can only assume your GPA is way better if Cornell is a safety.

I am glad so many of you did well! I will figure out how to crack those pesky logic games and be back with a vengeance in September. :)

PS. The much-loved dowsing article is from The Journal of Scientific Exploration, which primarily deals with "fringe" and "pseudo-science" according to the Wikipedia page:
Of the SSE and its journal, journalist Michael D. Lemonick writes, "Pretty much anything that might have shown up on The X-Files or in the National Enquirer shows up first here.
