well, I mean, at Duke 80% get fed clerkships or BL, and I assume a portion of those in the other 20% got the jobs they wanted because they were PI oriented. So like bottom 10%, realistically what happens?oopsu812 wrote:Cry?chargers21 wrote:What do the people who finish at the bottom of the class do at t13 schools after graduating?

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
I have my contingency plan in place I think, so I was just curious. I know local lawyers and government workers in my home area that would probably be happy to have a bottom feeder from a top school, so I don't think I would be completely screwed. What are the thoughts on a bottom 10% at Duke landing a job at a firm with about 100 lawyers that typically only hires from the top of the class at the nearby TTT and top 30% from the nearby t1?

Re: The Official September 2017 Study Group
I'd take the bottom 20% Duke grad over a 30% at at TTT. Maybe not over a top 5% TTT, but definitely over 30. It's probably very dependent upon how you can market yourself and if you are social/have a good fit. Even if you took the best 300 candidates from Yale, SOMEONE still has to finish last. Do you think they are any worse than someone who finished top 20% if they had marginally better grades?chargers21 wrote:I have my contingency plan in place I think, so I was just curious. Penn and Northwestern both seem so uninspiring to me.

Why? Is it the business-like approach to churning out BL grads?oopsu812 wrote:Penn and Northwestern both seem so uninspiring to me.

I think so. They just come across as very vanilla and bland? I'm not sure what makes them standout, whereas every other T13 has something that sticks out to me.chargers21 wrote:Why? I think NU is also very big on WE and tend to be more splitter friendly. Which would explain the median age.Alexandros wrote:Same. More NU than Penn for me, especially cause the median age is like 26 which would be weird for a youngster like me. They kind of go on about their "business approach to law school" which is idk. The ED option is great though.oopsu812 wrote:I think so. They just come across as very vanilla and bland? Also they were one of the few t14s to give me a fee waiver, so I like them for that.

I just can't see any situation where I end up at either school. I can't see them offering me more money than other schools I much prefer.Alexandros wrote:Yeah they like people who are a few years out of school.
