I dunno because I've never worked this much but I think 80 hrs a week in the office would eat away at me fast regardless of the work. But doing mindless, menial stuff with no real autonomy would definitely make it worse. The fire alarm, fake deadline culture in NYC BL also doesn't sound fun.

For all of you who are neurotic about signing up like me because of what happened with the June registration, I just called LSAC. The September registration for the LSAT will open on May 1, 2017.
AHH!! This is really happening.

Depends on the work imo. If it is soul crushing gray wall staring might as well be in jail but if you somewhat enjoy it and have good coworkers to riff with and help tackle projects could be okay.Alexandros wrote:I dunno because I've never worked this much but I think 80 hrs a week in the office would eat away at me fast regardless of the work. Yeah, that much is still a huge chunk of your life/waking hours though. I think I'd have to be really into what I was doing.dj9i27 wrote:Depends on the work imo. Pending on the degree of autonomy it may not be bad.

I think 80 hrs would be extreme for me as well, but I think I'd be okay with closer to 60 provided I truly loved what I was doing. If Trump doesn't demolish the TN visa, I'll likely avoid BigLaw all together, or maybe do it for a few years max for the $$$. At the end of the day though, I don't want to spend my 20s with no work-life balance.Alexandros wrote:I dunno because I've never worked this much but I think 80 hrs a week in the office would eat away at me fast regardless of the work. I'm hype in the sense I'll get to wrecklessly go through the "game-day" experience. And it'll be a freebie since the score wont matter. So I'm going to be glad to get experience with those things and hopefully reduce nerves for the real thing.dj9i27 wrote:I'm mad hype for it, you aren't?TWiiX wrote:I am. I'm not hype in the sense that I should be further along in my studies and I would like to be "ready" to sit for the real thing for as close of a comparison as possible. I'm not overly nervous solely for it being digital though.
It's also the weekend after I get my puppy. So I'm sure that week will be largely unproductive.

we are over 5 months out, you are on track chill. Treat it as real and psych yourself out so September like it is nothing. Eh. You still get to mark it up with the stylus. I really don't think it will be much different honestly. I have larger fears of how they handle whatever proprietary app they are using - like what happens if it freezes? Or crashes and you lose progress? Or if your stylus stops working?dj9i27 wrote:we are over 5 months out, you are on track chill. Treat it as real and psych yourself out so September like it is nothing. The fact that we are 5 months out totally just slapped me in the face. I've been legit worrying the last few weeks about being behind. Didn't even step back and look at it from a big picture. I just always sit here and compare myself against these nerds who already are golden for admission and felt bad lol. We'll be good

I mean - Considering what people say about BL, I don't think that's likely. Some enjoy it, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone claim to love it. Maybe I'd be one of the rare ones though, you never know.oopsu812 wrote:Ever the optimist, eh?Alexandros wrote:If I truly loved what I was doing, for sure, but I'm not sure what the odds of that are. Weird. The woman I spoke to was really nice, she at first told me it would be the first week of May and then when I reiterated what she said, she said registration will be open May 1. She sounded like she was looking at some database or something.TWiiX wrote:I just called LSAC and they wouldn't give me a concrete date. She said "you should call back around the 9th". Rude. Oh sorry, if you were only talking about BL then yeah, I agree. Well, I think something requiring 60-80 a week would almost always fall into BL or something similar.oopsu812 wrote:Oh sorry, if you were only talking about BL then yeah, I agree.
