Yeah. I got a 169. Was hoping for a 170+. 1 point isn't going to deter me and 96th percentile is great as far as I'm concerned. Hoping my other application credentials can help carry me.em15 wrote:anyone else not quite get the score they wanted but applying anyway?

169 is killer! Nice job!! I'm struggling cause I have a lower GPA, but I am already taking a year off from UG and have major that is very difficult to get a job without further education, so taking another year off is really really not something I want to doInstrumental wrote:Yeah. No, but only because I hit 75th for the only 3 schools I can actually see myself attending. I applied to Michigan, UVA, Northwestern, plus a few just below them but can only see myself attending Vandy, Texas, or SMU because I want to minimize debt and practice in Texas. So I'm not too disappointed because I still set myself up well to get into those 3, but I would have loved to be 75th LSAT for the t14 for negotiation purposes.em15 wrote:laqueredup and Tazewell, has your school list changed because of it?

Sounds like me. I was hoping higher for T14, but I can't afford T14 full price, so it would've helped for the $$$ for my other schools. Good luck this cycle!!Tazewell wrote:No, but only because I hit 75th for the only 3 schools I can actually see myself attending. I'm just over Texas and Vandy's 25th GPA so I'll need the luck! Thank you, and I'll be rooting for you this cycle!em15 wrote:Sounds like me. That's so good to hear!! Congrats to you and good luck with the rest of your cycle!!laqueredup wrote:Nope, I'm a very extreme splitter 10 years out of undergrad with some unique softs, so I knew my cycle would be unpredictable even with a 180.em15 wrote:laqueredup and Tazewell, has your school list changed because of it?
I applied everywhere that I thought I might be interested in attending regardless of what LSN said my chances were based on my numbers.
It called 5% chance for a school I've already been accepted to, so I still have no idea how the rest of my cycle will go.
That said, if you don't get into the schools you want on this cycle, waiting a year could only help. Get an interesting job you might enjoy. Who knows you may decide that's a better path anyway. You never know what could spark your interest. Law school was not even a consideration for me 10 years ago but here I am.

em15... I am. PM if you need to chat. For splitters, it may make more sense than one thinks after some analysis. Can get into it in PM if you want.em15 wrote:anyone else not quite get the score they wanted but applying anyway?

I am, this was my 3rd take (163). Unfortunately didn't improve on my 2nd take (167) but I'm going this year for sure. Been at my current job a year and four months and not learning anything new.em15 wrote:anyone else not quite get the score they wanted but applying anyway?
I'm a splitter that got into some decent schools last cycle so hoping for similar results and maybe a slight boost from an extra year of work experience and not applying late like last time!

What kind of law? Depending on your answer, and based on above objectives, I'd at least apply to UH as well.. much lower COA than SMU even though SMU schollys on LSN are larger, the difference in tuition still makes UH cheaper for the average student with same stats. Comparable in overall ranking (at least US NEWS) and UH will still throw some money at you (despite already affordable tuition) with good numbers.Tazewell wrote:Or SMU because I want to minimize debt and practice in Texas.em15 wrote:laqueredup and Tazewell, has your school list changed because of it?
In a time where jobs are hard(er) to come by, no better place to be than in Houston. But, as my handle indicates, I'm only slightly biased
I'm brand new here and just getting started on my LSAT journey, but feel free to hit me with any UH or Houston-specific questions. I know several UHLC alumni as well as a few current students. Good luck!
