I went ahead and tried out my first timed test. I didn't finish the Logic Games section. So my score was 156. If I had finished, it would have been 159. I have my work cut out for me but I'm hoping to get 15 more points by test day.
You might want to look into picking up the manhattan or powerscore bible for games. At the very worst, look up the games on 7sage as I think these all do a great job at diving into the logic behind games.

That's a good idea. I did end up reading a goodly amount of the PowerScore Logical Reasoning Bible before I signed up for/committed to the LSAT (checked out at the Library!). So I imagine their Logic Games Bible will be very extensive and helpful for me.

It seems to me I really need to work on assessing what kind of board to build. I ended up remaking several boards about midway through questions realizing that I wasn't set up correctly. I answered fairly well once I had more board down (-3 all together had I finished!). I need to get my basics worked out and maybe see if there are any tricks that would help me improve my time.

Practice. Practice. Practice.

7 sage explanations are very helpful for this, and in particular when deciding when to split a board based on a rule.

Taking the night off from studying since I had a very productive week, and I'll be taking 2 PT's this weekend. I've been averaging -1/2 on each LR section, -0/-1 on games, and anywhere from -0/-3 on RC, so my sights will be set very high for this weekend (aiming for 175+ on both tests).

Good luck! I'm almost done my 2 weeks RC/LG bender. I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with both sections. I'm looking forward to PTing Monday to see where I'm at.

Taking my first PT tomorrow we'll see how it goes since I know I'm going a bit slower than I'd like.

Thanks! How've you been studying for RC? Sections in full? I think is upcoming week is going to be heavily RC focused for me. I finally made it through the LR and LG sections from tests 1-38 this week, so I'm hoping to start knocking out the remainder of RC this upcoming week before hitting the PT's hard for the last 60 days or so.

Very nice! I took a PT today and yesterday: 168/171. It is really weird, LR has been killing me out of nowhere. I have a paper to write this weekend but I'm going to try and fit in 12 LR sections.

Same with the LR! I was never great at it to begin with, but I went from going around -3 for each section to about -5 for some reason. Even on some questions where I really take my time. On the bright side I've been really good on RC and solid on LG, just have to speed up a little bit, I usually run out of time by the last two questions.

-Untimed sections in full for accuracy.
-Then I would print 3 copies and do them over the next 3 days. The "re-do" I would attempt to do as fast as possible to help with timing. I was around 4-6 minutes per passage with 95-100% accuracy on the redos.

Overall I did about 6 full untimed sections, other days I would just do the redos since I had a big stack of 8-12 passages.
I've been doing this for the last 10 days. I'm taking a full timed RC today. Hopefully it helped.

***Update: went -4. I was averaging -7 before. So I'll take it. I felt really good. One wrong was a misread of the q stem, one was narrowed to two choices, picked the wrong one, and the other 2 I had no idea. Overall a success even though it's a small sample size.

I drilled 4 sections of LR a day this past week, and I feel that it helped. Took PT 55 today and scored -2 and -1 on the LR sections respectively; having drilled a lot of LR (to the exclusion of RC) I felt really in control and didn't miss any questions unexpectedly. All 3 that I missed were circled for review. So I think the 12 LR sections will certainly help.

Which tests are you drilling? I have all the exams, and I'm wondering if older PTs will work since I seem to be much better at them.

So far I've drilled all the LR and LG sections from tests 1-38. I have no doubt the older tests are still relevant. I haven't noticed any real change in LG difficulty; if anything the earlier tests mimic the strange games that have been appearing lately. Similarly, LR seems to be pretty consistent, if not a bit easier on the newer sections. RC is certainly a bit more difficult on the newer tests, but for a lack of better alternatives, the older PT's are still relevant for practice.

Which tests have you been using to drill? I don't want to burn through fresh material, but RC has changed a bit since the older tests so it's kind of a necessity.

I used tests in the 20's. I'm a re-taker, so I wanted to see some fresh stuff. I have only a limited amount of fresh PTs left, mostly in the 30-50's and a couple of late 70's. I'm saving the newer ones for closer to test day. It's tough to balance the material. I've also never really found timing to be an issue, even though it screwed me on test day. So I think it is beneficial for me to focus on accuracy.

Good to know. I'll be drilling some older RC this week, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a waste of time.

Also, on an unrelated note I bought the watch in the link, and so far it has been a tremendous help. I can't speak to it's durability, but I can vouch for it's accuracy. I was a bit skeptical myself, but it's definitely very easy to read/work. Takes all the anxiety over timing out.

LOL it sucks. On the one hand, studying is miserable, and on the other, time is flying by and June feels right around the corner. I struggle with convincing myself that I'll be able to keep pace until June, and freaking out that June is coming too soon.

Took a 6 section PT today in a veryyyyy loud cafe. PT 55 with 2 sections from PT52.
LR1 -4
LR2 -2
RC -2
LR3 -1
LG1 -3
LG -0

Turns out to a 172 but idk how much it counts as I've def seen some of these before. The games and LR are a bit high for what I want but RC is great considering I've barely done any.

It's just nice getting some questions in and doing ok

I slogged through 6 LR sections today and did blind review for the first time (tragic, I know...). Having a bad week with LR really allowed me to slow down and be more methodical. I'm going to take a PT tomorrow instead of LR drilling and see where I shake out.

Just took PT 55 yesterday and RC was not so kind to me, passage 3 wrecked my RC score, so well done.

I have about 20 fresh PTs left, and I find myself calculating how much I can space them out before the test. When I have a bad section/PT, the test seems like it is tomorrow. When I have a good section, it feels like a lifetime away. I just want to get it over with.

Yeah I missed both of mine in that passage too. It's kinda annoying but I think they key to it is being able to refer directly back to the passage to get your answers. The two I got wrong were p much answered by specific references
