Test day vs. PT

Post by Whittie » Sat Aug 13, 2016 3:12 pm

Hey all, I am PT'ing pretty often in preparation for the September LSAT, and have found my scores to be pretty consistently now between 172-174. I am still hoping for improvement but I am wondering how people generally perform relative to a PT average taken from ~15 PT's. Do testers usually see a +/- of a consistent deviation? Can I expect an adrenaline-related boost if I am generally unaffected by test anxiety?

unless you freak out under pressure, you'll score in your PT range. try to feel relaxed on test day and approach the test like you would a PT, don't change it up.

If you don't tend to get test day anxiety, then you should be in good shape. Pretty much everyone gets an adrenaline boost on test day, it's just a matter of staying focused and treating it like preptest. From what I've heard and my own experience, barring nerves or an off day, you'll score right around your prep average. Just keep it up and get plenty of rest in the weeks leading up to the test.

As others have said, treat it like a preptest; there is no need to freak out.

With that said, I advise taking more than 15 preptests. And make sure that you are doing preptests exactly like test day (scantron, timed sections, only one break, etc.)
